Today is the feast of Our Lady of Aparecida in Brazil.
On the occasion of the tricentennial celebrations (1717-2017) of the meeting of the venerable image of Nossa Senhora da Conceiรงรฃo Aparecida, the Virgin Mary was honored with several ecclesiastical and civil titles awarded in recognition.
Among the aforementioned, Queen of Brazil, conferred in 1904 and that of Patroness of Brazil, in 1931, together with these titles, another with special emphasis is that of Generalissima of the Brazilian Army
The image of Our Lady of Aparecida, has civil recognition conferred by the highest patent of the Brazilian Army. Brazil confers the appropriate military honors to the Mother of God.
