Legends tell us that he was captured by the Danes when they attacked his kingdom. When he refused to renounce Christ, they beat him, and shot him with arrows until he bristled with them like a hedgehog. He was eventually beheaded.

These 17 nuns were all members of the Congregation of the Sisters of Christian Doctrine. They were shot and killed during the anti-Catholic Spanish Revolution. Two were killed ahead in September 1936. The rest were killed together in November 1936 they were shot while uttering words of forgiveness. The group is led by Bl. Angeles of St. Joseph (Francisca Desamparados Honorata Lloret Marti), the Superior General of the congregation.

Today is the death anniversary of the Ven. Gianfranco Maria of Gigneses. He was an Italian Capuchin priest. His name at birth was Gianfranco Chiti. He was a highly decorated army officer and a veteran of World War II. He left the army at the age of 58 and joined the Capuchins. He rebuilt the ancient convent of San Crispino da Viterbo in Orvieto, which had been in a state of neglect for many years, transforming it into a place of prayer.

She had the gift of healing. She once healed a nun from blindness.

Today is the feast of Our Lady of Divine Providence. Its image is greatly venerated in Puerto Rico. In 1976, the said image was set to receive a coronation. But on the morning of the event this image was vilely burned by a person who hated the Blessed Virgin. Such a dramatic event did not stop the solemn coronation, which occurred amid the emotion and tears of thousands of her children and the presence of cardinals, archbishops, and bishops from all over Latin America. The image that was in ashes was later sent to Spain for restoration.

She was able to preserve her virginity. She was only 16.

God later made a covenant with him that the world will not be destroyed anymore by water. The rainbow became the symbol of this covenant.
