The DANA front has caused flooding in the north of Alicante province, where an orange weather alert has been issued.
Three roads were closed in the Marina Alta region and the Girona and Gorgos rivers rose.
Over the last few hours, about 200 liters of water per m2 has accumulated.
Javea received up to 159 litres of rain per m2, followed by Gata de Gorgos with 124.4 litres.
Some streets in Javea were also damaged by flooding, and the Barranquerra ravine, which runs through the city, burst its banks.
Municipal sources in La Vall d'Ebo said the Girona River, which flows into Els Poblets, was carrying "an excess of water" but stressed that "there is no danger at the moment."
On Wednesday morning, gusts of wind up to 84 km/h were recorded in Denia, and sea waves reached four meters on local beaches.
20 municipalities in the area have decided to close schools and colleges as a precautionary measure.

In the last few hours, a severe storm has hit Licata, causing numerous inconveniences to the population and creating difficulties in some areas of the city. In the city of Licata, 53 mm of rain fell in a few minutes. The situation was particularly critical for residents and businesses located on the ground floors: the water level reached a level that threatened to penetrate into shops and houses. The intense rainfall made transport difficult and increased the inconvenience for those living or working in the affected areas.
In Catania and the Syracuse area, 500 mm of rain fell in 12 hours, rivers overflowed and cemented streams burst. Heavy rain in the last few hours also fell in the Syracuse area: 135 mm fell in Solarino, 71 mm in Cassibile, and 65 mm in Melilli.

A powerful magnitude 5.9 earthquake shook the southeastern coast of Cuba on Sunday near the city of Santiago, followed by a stronger aftershock of magnitude 6.8. The epicenter of the first quake was at a depth of 14.2 kilometers under the ocean, about 35 kilometers off the coast of Bartolomé Mazo in Granma province and about 175 kilometers from Santiago de Cuba.
