When will u marry?
i dont think i can sustain her. i am already in one of the most expensive cities in the world and i would not be wrong to assume she will demand a lot from me, both financially and physically

Can I self-study SAT on my own or is it better to go courses for better results?
you can self-study, but dont view sat courses as sat courses only. offline sat courses offer the best networking you can get in tashkent

I'm 11th grade, and is it better to apply to prestigious universities next year with a gap year or study in uzb?
And simultaneously, can i do some job to earn as well.
gap year

Do you think taking two gap years is okay or itโ€™s not worth it?
okay, i took 2

Oสปzbekcha gapiring xay I know English but we are Uzbek ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฟ
this is stupid. just because you are uzbek doesnt mean you need to speak it all the time. i run this channel in russian and english and it is totally up to me to continue to do so

amazing book to learn writing

Writing Well is a hard-won skill that involves learning conventions.
To educate about the conventions of writing is good. Why? Because writing well requires disciplined thinking.

Which conventions aspiring writers need to learn? Among other things, those who write must learn how to:
โ€ข Summarize complicated matter.
โ€ข Maintain a cohesive train of thought.
โ€ข Support ideas with adequate evidence.

By the end of this book, you will have learned the conventions and how to precisely express your reflections โ€” key skill in writing your college essays.

thats my primary concern. but recently, i was talking to abdul, and he said quant finance can help even if you do other fields. he said the chinese ai's founders were quant guys. i cant do quant bcs im too dumb, but i guess accounting would help a lot.

would i work in the bank? i dont think so.

are you a person that can easily get manipulated?
yes. because i trust people. liers never get manipulated because they always think they can be lied. honest, sincere people take others as themselves and trust them. and get lied. recently, i got screwed for like 2k$. maybe i will write about it someday.

levsha

my MOM bought booknomy. and people keep buying those products.

its a disgrace.

what abdulaziz, bobirjon, i, and other ppl are trying to do is to raise awareness about so many scams that have captured uzbekistan. if more bloggers exposed such scams, people would put more trust on programs that actually help one develop.

as abdulaziz put it,
Shit talk is saying that โ€œpublic opinionโ€ and attempts to raise awareness are shit talk.

uni buni qo'yilar. ive been yearning for something: interviews.

yes, dartmouth interviews dont mean much. but if you dont get an invitation, it likely means you are rejected.

waiting for other students to get invitations.

btw, im not sending these to brag. i know interviews dont mean much. rather, there is so much frusrtation people have around when they are sending out invitations. and, rather than hide it like others do, i want to ease it up, so even if you havent received an invitation, you can start preparing. learning when approx. you will get it helps so much.

and last, it is better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than have an opportunity and not be prepared.

good luck everyone!

GUYS

i uploaded a youtube video on why people should write

writing is an obsolete culture in uzbekistan. i tried my best to change it by filming a video. i criticized an educational system on making rigid minds through multiple choice tests like dtms, and why people should go back to writing, not as notes, but as properly expressed prose.

i write why you should write on this channel practically every day. but for an average uzbek, its basically impossible to even comprehend how important it is to write as no one agressively advocates for it.

thus, if you want to know why you should write and help others in uzbekistan do the same, search on youtube: "Nega yozish kerak?"

we have added engineering

i believe that you can check the country's success or working potential by the number and quality of engineers. in uzbekistan, engineering is in severe shortage. i dont like having default subjects/majors, but if there should be one, it should be engineering, not econ and education.

these things are debateable, but whats not debateable is engineering is one of the most important fields and uzbekistan lacks engineers. so i think the engineering department at fasih.uz will be doing important work in the history of uzbekistan.

What unique activities would you recommend for students applying for economics?
win economics hackathons? write research papers and publish in prestigious journals?
but beyond everything, beyond doing unique activities, first you need to make sure you learn it deeply. dont focus on activities. learn it and only then focus.

I was assigned to a group to do a coursework where I am the only girl and boys there are academically and behaviorally bad. I canโ€™t change groups, what do you suggest to do?

Is there someone who got cw without sat?
i heard one uzbek in ed1 didnt have it. dont know if its true. but both of my students who got it had sat.

how to operate when you are anxious, overwhelmed, and dont know what to do.

i often get too many assignments to do every day. and the way i get โ€” relatively โ€” so many things done is i dont do all of them at once. rather, i say: "whats one thing, big or small, i can do NOW without any distraction?" i get it done. then i ask the same question again, and by the time evening comes, i find myself in a situation where i had gotten many things done. of course, many does not mean most but its better than nothing, which i see usually happen with others.

thus, there is no magical secret to productivity. you dont have to read books, watch ali abdaal's videos, or buy mukhammadali eshonqulov's courses, just know what exactly you have to do, focus, remove distractions, do it, analyze, then repeat. that simple.

the easiest way to recognize you are lonely in this age is when you have no one to share reels with.

levsha

18 Jan, 18:31

issue

there is one issue that i long thought about and yet it seems now is an ideal time to articulate it.
i am surrounded by, at least relative to our age, monumentally successful people. we often get invitations for interviews, opportunities, etc. many even make it to the nation's most popular platforms like kun.uz, gazeta.uz, millat umidi podcast, etc. but there is this one problem that i constantly notice.

many friends and early followers start showing substantial support only after someone appears on those big platforms. while this surge in "relevance" is natural, a question arises: why didnt you support so openly (with comments and reposts) when he was still your regular friend or a small channel you were following?

my approach has always been different. i actively encourage friends to open channels on tg, yt, ig, etc, and make sure to support from day one. i repost their initial content and engage with their early work. many of these friends went on to amass thousands and tens of thousands of followers, but i see them and support them just like i did when they had 100 followers.

now it would be foolish to expect the same from my friends or followers, but i want to bring this into your conscious mind โ€” it matters most at the beginning. bring up, comment under videos, repost posts of your friends or channels you follow especially when they are just in early stages. it is these early stages that are most lonely, most tiresome and most depressing because you do not see any results. thats when genuine support and engagement can make the biggest difference, both practically and emotionally.

look: do you think one really cares about just another post or comment when a guy is already on the biggest platform in the country? no. he is pleased at the overwhelmingly positive comments, but it effectively no longer matters. you better support him when he is at the beginnning. even if you are just an early follower, being more agressive in your support always helps.

some people who study at specialized school who dont know about AP google what it is. upon finding that AP stands for advanced placement, they think "oh, our math was advanced," they write the school offers AP classes. ultimately, the talented student who actually didnt have a chance to take AP, sends an app that he deliberately didnt take AP.

slow success builds character, fast success builds ego.

it is by an indian business tycoon Ratan Tata. he's also a very interesting guy, maybe i should read his book as well.

the most difficult part of writing is not brainstorming. it is not thinking. it is not even writing.

the most difficult part of writing is the trauma you have to go through while cutting out your most favorite parts.

they become so dear, so all-consuming, so representing you, that you feel you are letting the sky take your child.

narod, i have a request.

sometimes, you have an urge to post stories on ig. for no tangible reason. just to be noticed, just to be seen cool.

yesterday, i had that urge too. i scrolled down my relatively older photos and wanted to post as "recent."

but it would be a lie to myself. and i remembered dostoyevky's quote:
โ€œAbove all, don't lie to yourself. The man who lies to himself and listens to his own lie comes to a point that he cannot distinguish the truth within him, or around him, and so loses all respect for himself and for others. And having no respect he ceases to love.โ€

i exercised self-restraint, not allowing myself to do it.

having said that, the urge to post is stil there. plus, last time i checked, that girl is still following me, and ofc why not brag 10k views in 9days?

so pls search "17 yoshda harvardga," open my pod, and leave a genuine comment in uzbek language.

lying to oneself is a bad deed, but supressing one's feelings also doesnt go far.

levsha

04 Jan, 09:44

forgive my bias, but you know your heart is strong when you no longer need to add sugar to americano

btw, noticed some people cant handle coffee, so i think i should not recommend it to indiduals

however, at a societal level, i think we should increase coffee drinking culture. i will sound like offensive, but coffee drinking people tend to be faster and more awake.

people are obsessed with big achievements

that is important. and you should be able to do that too.

however, all those big achievements are only possible because meticulous work has been put in in tiny places.

it is easy to say "Stalin" won the war. but when you look at it, it kind of seems overcelebrated. how about the fate of the men that Sholoxov described being stuck in an underground for 6 months not to wait for saviours to come, but to kill or hurt at least one more soldier despite inveitable death so the next line in front faces fewer armed men? these stories that arrived to us are already thousands. but for sure, there were millions of them.

this is to say when you see huge amount of work spent in small areas, do not underestimate it. when you start celebrating that victory, a greater victory shall arise one day.

levshates

23 Oct, 16:12

one of the biggest lessons i recently learned is do not trade your time for money

if you can do X unit of labor for 10$ in 1 hour and you have 2 options:
a) cook for one hour & work for one hour
b) order food & work for 2 hours

choose the latter.
when you do the latter, you can increase the value of your work (time would be more precise tho). when you do the former, this does not happen.

and this is not about cooking either. it a broad life lesson.

when i was young, i could not comprehend how some of my peers would find it difficult to move/carry an item and would complain with a bit of difficulty.

it turns out i didnt have these issues because i was constantly training and eating lots of meat. i had all the energy in the world.

after coming here, my food habit was terrible and i was training less than i did back at home. now, even when i have to open a heavy door, i am finding it more burdensome than i felt when i just arrived. and it is getting heavier and heavier for me.

i realized the the same weight is different for everyone even when those 2 people have the same weight.

however, this is no justification for being weak and demand less than one should. i should stop complaining about it getting harder and fix myself by eating better and exercising more.

thus, the conclusion is eat better, exercise more often.

the reason is that there is no reason

the world of sciences tries to give reason and logical necessity to every 2 disconnected ideas and put the notion of cause and effect and other connections to everything imaginable.

but this is not the only means through which we should conceptualize the world. there was a fascinating dialogue in saw between a scientist and a philosopher which i recommend watching: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DBELMrwtBdR/?igsh=MTB6NzU4aGUxanpqNA==
