2. Middle Tunic (Uveal Tract):
- Choroid: Nourishes the outer 1/3 of the retina.
- Ciliary Body: Produces aqueous humor; aids in accommodation.
- Iris: Regulates pupil size, controlling light entry; gives eye color.
3. Inner Tunic:
- Retina: Light-sensitive; 10 layers (9 sensory + 1 pigment epithelium).
- Specialized areas:
- Macula Lutea: Yellow, central area.
- Fovea Centralis: Sharp color vision (cones only).
- Lens: Transparent structure suspended by zonules; contributes to refraction (1/3 of total power).
