I try keep it Irish in here but actors like Vivek are a worthy case study given how Ireland’s work patents are prob worse than H1Bs and are also dominated by Indians

He essentially just bought up failed drugs from established Big Pharma firms (like GSK) using money via connections working with the hedge fund QVT Financial and then he took the failed study on the drug and ‘made clarifications on it’ using his mother and her credentials and then hyped up the drug to investors and thus the stock of the company went up and then…the drug fails the clinical trial and the price dumps 99%

His family came to America, and he used his mother to cook the books to commit fraud. It’s within Indians to do this.

Al Jazeera reporting on Balbriggan 24th September 2007.

The Africans coming in weren’t Catholic so many couldn’t get access to the Catholic schools - so an educate together school was set up which ended up being 95% black (the one Kevin Myers mentioned on Late Late Show soon after). Racism blamed.

Most of these Africans arrived as ‘asylum seekers’ and got citizenship via anchor baby loophole. Then immediately started demanding we cater for them.

An African man later on at 1:50 then even warns that there will be ‘some clashes like in France’ if we don’t cater to these new arrivals.

June 2000 article on an attack against a mixed race couple in Dublin who were visiting from England.

Like the rest of (rich, white, northern) Europe, Ireland is now receiving more asylum-seekers than ever before. The Irish Home Affairs department deals with up to 1,000 asylum-seekers a month, up from just 39 in all of 1992. Most come from Africa and eastern Europe.

The pressure comes partly because of Ireland's economic miracle. The country which for most of its life has bled emigrants is now attracting immigrants on a scale never before imagined. The rest of northern Europe has, to a better or worse degree, come to terms with a multi-cultural society, but Ireland is probably the most 'white' country in western Europe. It is true that racist attacks and murders take place with depressing frequency on the other side of the Irish Sea, but legislation is in place in Britain to counter racist crimes. No such legislation exists in Ireland

Back when 80% of the Irish electorate voted against birth right citizenship, this 2004 article states:

The Irish Labour party, along with doctors, human rights activists, Sinn Féin and even a former US congressman argued that the referendum was launched with no time for a proper debate. They now want assurances of anti-racism legislation.

Prior to the referendum, when anchor babies were temporarily legal:

Last year, 4,625 babies were born to non-national women in Dublin's three main maternity hospitals. The mothers were from more than 100 countries. Around 1,500 babies were born to Nigerian women.

She had heard rumours of a "no whites" sign in a shop window. She felt Dublin's hospitals were so full of foreigners arriving to give birth that she went private to deliver her last child.

The first is the point that Ted says ‘deports the 30k illegals before there’s an amnesty’

Since then, Alan Shatter in around 2011 has made it easier for immigrants to get passports and there has been mass amnesties - the most recent one by Helen McEntee in 2022 which enabled hundreds of thousands of people in the country only 3 years to claim passports.

Another is that an Irish Times in 2009 found that 72% of people thought immigration was far too high. Immigration in 2007/2008 was at the levels it is today but dropped off after the recession for a few years and picked back up around 2015.

‘It’s the mantra that is being played that Ireland is no more than an industrial estate. Ireland was conceived as a country, as a society by our forefathers.

We elected a democratic parliament to run this country and now that whole thing has been spun around that Ireland is no more than a place to conduct industrial activity with an artificial introduction of huge masses of labour, people prepared to work at low rates from countries who would actually be far preferable in having those workers to develop their own economies - that was the whole idea of the EU that when the accession states came in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and all the rest that the EU concept was that they would develop their prosperity to the level of the EU.

Instead what has happened, Ireland has pushed their workers over for its own greedy needs…

However - only 1,255 or 3.7% of the 33,000 work permits issued for 2024 were for the construction sector.

Most work permits are in

- Agriculture for meat factories
- Communications for call centres
- Low paying healthcare jobs
