Many of you were having problem with quality answer writing
So
For any optional or gs there are 3 things that help you fetch marks
1. Your content. It should be qualitative integrated with some backings. Backings for gs will be given by facts data and figures reports, while for optional it will be from commentaries books and editorials.
2. Demand of the question. Address the demand and fetch average marks for sure. Don't write anything and everything. Your content should be in line with the question.
3. Flow of the answer. Whether it be essay, gs or optional. Your flow should be coherent. The answer should not be disruptive and examiner should not feel confused after reading your answer.
And also 4th point is critical thinking and taking middle path as conclusion. Conclusion should not be extremely leaning towards and ideology or taking a radical approach. It should be balanced with good annotations and way forward

#mocks
For prelims I would suggest to take mock tests of vision, Rau and ksg. Best out of which is vision. If you have financial problems you can also consider to take the photocopy available in rajinder nagar
For mains mgp of forum is best in the market. It is unpredictable, comprehensive and challenging to score
Also I joined answer writing focus group of forum during COVID times. But it has become very expensive and they aren't checking copies now so would suggest convert ias for daily answer analysis.

#mains
For each gs paper have a short spiral or one page notes that contains examples, data and reports
Like for gs 2 use SC judgement that helps
Like I used mc Mehta judgement in gs2 fundamental duties answer
They help you score better marks

#mains
Have synthesis of optional and general studies daily in your studies
Like 4 hrs optional daily with answer writing as per your optionals. First cover lengthy portions and which you haven't completed before prelims. Then complete the ones that you are confident with.
Your strategy should be of survival and to score above 800+ in mains anyhow
For that prepare each gs papers also like to score 120+
In all 9 papers variable in 1 or 2 paper may not be in your favour so each paper should be prepared well and good.
Like for me gs3 didn't work but overall each subject I had well enough marks to score 800+

#currentaffairs
Have daily habit of reading newspaper
Make issue based notes out of editorial and enhance your knowledge with it
Like if you have read editorial on performance of ayushman Bharat, take health issue have comprehensive notes on health sector from primary to secondary. Link health issue with insurance penetration.
Like this you have to proceed.
Also read monthly magazines
I used vision though iasbaba or any monthly magazine can also be used

Use Andrew Heywood ideology book which is also helpful for paper 1A
Apart from which selective study of baylis and smith (this book is every expensive download available pdf)
IGNOU notes work as content enhancement
Link this paper with world history part for correlation and better answer writing
