The Advent Sacrament of Reconciliation for 2024 is from 10th December till 13th December from 7.00pm till 9.00pm culminating with Benediction.

All are encouraged to spent time before the Blessed Sacrament during this period especially in examining your conscience and praying your penance.

平安！

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

Peace!

As promised we have returned to the Cathedral proper. As you would have noticed, the renovation is far from complete. Works are still being carried out. These are some of the outstanding works yet to be completed.

The cushioning of the pews kneelers.
The completion of the new Adoration Room.
The installation of the new stained glass panels.
The improvement of the bell system.
The repairing of the main signage facing Jalan Keris.
The relocation of the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The partition of the two confessionals
The pavement of interlocking tiles at the guard-house access.
The setting up of the security system.

Further down the line and subject to funds available, we will repair and resurface the car park.

For the moment when the confessionals cannot be used, please approach the wardens to show you the temporary location used for confessions.

However, let us not be distracted with the unfinished work but continue to focus on our final destination and home that St Paul mentions in his 2nd epistle to the people of Corinth:
“For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down, we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.” (2 Cor 5:1)

1. Works at Mary’s Square and Guard House Access
圣母亭和保安亭通道施工通知
Works to the roof at Mary’s Square and the access at the guard house is still being carried out. The side/back gate will be used for access and egress till the road works at that location is completed.
圣母亭的屋顶和保安亭的通道工程仍在进行中。在该处的通道工程完工之前，将使用后门作为出入口。

2. PARISH PASTORAL ASSEMBLY 堂区牧民大会（PPA）
The PPA will be held on 17th Nov at 12.00noon at St. James Hall. Registration will commence at 11.30am.
堂区牧民大会将于 11 月 17 日中午 12:00 在圣雅各伯礼堂举行。11:30 开始报到。
Kindly note the 12.30pm Mass is DULY CANCELLED to accommodate this gathering. All are encouraged to attend the PPA.

3. ANNUAL CLERGY DISCERMENT (ACD) 神职人员年度神操日
The clergy will be away for their ACD in MAJODI on 19th till 21st of November.

The Mass timing during those days:
19th November - 7.00am
20th November - NO Mass
21st November - 7.00pm.

4. CONSECRATION OF ALTAR 祝圣座堂祭台
We shall be returning to the Cathedral on 23rd November for the 5.00pm Mass. Bishop Bernard Paul will be celebrating the bilingual Mass and shall consecrate the Altar.
教区大家长--伯纳德主教将于 11 月 23 日下午 5 时前来主持弥撒，并祝圣祭台。弥撒将以双语进行。
Kindly note the 7.00pm Mass is cancelled. All are invited for a fellowship after Mass.

Due to concern for public safety, the announced Creation Justice Ministry Recycling Weekend of 9th and 10th November has to be postponed until further notice. The re-roofing of St Mary’s Square and the laying of the interlocking bricks at the entrance have severely restricted the movement of vehicular traffic in and out of the Cathedral. We want to avoid untoward incidents.

a. Blessing of graves at Larkin Catholic Cemetery Mass will be after the 7.15am Mass at CIC on 02 Nov.

b. Blessing of graves at Sg. Tiram Catholic Cemetery will be after the 8.30am Mass at Sg. Tiram on 02 Nov. There will be selling of flowers, candles, and incense by POHD, Church of the Holy Family on 27th Oct, 31st Oct, 1st Nov and 2nd Nov between 7:15am - 10:00am. All proceeds will go to the poor.

Car park will be available in front of Xing Gong, entry from 11:00am onwards via second gate along Jalan Ulu Air Molek.
