Why We No Longer Teach Stock Programs at Better Investing Academy

Since launching our free stock program on YouTube, I have received WhatsApp messages from my members and friends saying, “Are you and your team crazy? How do you make money if you’re giving all this knowledge away for free?”

Here’s the truth. Courses and programs might be the bread and butter for others but not for us at Better Investing Academy.

Teaching stock investing is easy. Anyone can just copy paste and repeat the course outline but the real challenge is in delivering real-life results and help investors make money.

Think about it. For example, a law lecturer can teach you the law in class but they’re not responsible for whether you’ll succeed as a lawyer in real life.

Similarly, teaching a stock course and hyping up students doesn’t mean the guru is a good investor. An investor’s real skills is tested in the heat of the moment - when the market crashes, portfolios bleed and make crucial decisions on navigating the market.

A true sailor proves their worth in rough seas, not in the safety of the ship harbour.

Stock courses don’t really make you money... except for the stock guru. Courses might teach you the ABCs of stocks but they don’t prepare you for the real-life challenges of the stock market.

Many of our members had previously spent USD 2,000 to USD 30,000 on “advanced” courses and “mentorship” programs, only to see their portfolios crumble during the 2022 market crash and to be left fending for themselves afterward.

When our portfolios also suffered, Derrick, Eu Jin and I knew we couldn’t rely on what we learned before. We had to abandon what we knew and began to dig deep, develop our own new strategies and find a way to recover and rebuild from the ground up.

Once we discovered the formula for success, we immediately guided our original members through the portfolio recovery process. Fortunately, their portfolios rebounded in 2023 and today, their results speak louder than any promises we could make.

It’s easy to teach but it’s much, much harder to guide someone using their hard-earned money in the unpredictable and unforgiving stock market. But that’s the challenge we embrace confidently.

Keep on conducting programs robs us of our precious resources to focus on making money from the stock market. That’s why we don’t waste our time anymore teaching stock programs. We go straight to delivering results for our community.
