Twenty one years ago this week, I ended a month long jail sentence for my role in the Anti-Bin Charges Campaign in the city.

We warned then about the cost and the chaos.. It was predictable from the very beginning. Didn't need a taskforce to know this would happen!

Deeply affected and humbled by the discussion with Motaz Azaiza in the MAC in Belfast yesterday evening. What Gazans have endured is unimaginable. Every word he said is a punch to the gut.

It is the 11th month of the genocide. We cannot become jaded, or complacent or despondent. We have to keep battling, as if was the first day, for the killing to stop, for justice for Gaza and a free Palestine.

After 9 months of her aiding and abetting genocide in #Gaza, on Thursday at 1PM the newly elected European Parliament will vote on whether to give the disastrous Ursula von der Leyen the EU's top job for another five years.

Get in touch with your incoming MEPs now, without delay, to demand they do EVERYTHING in their power to block her reappointment.

The most reckless and irresponsible crop of European leaders for centuries - in hoc to a decrepit US empire in terminal decline - is actively dismantling the structures and arrangements that have protected the security of people in Europe for generations.

Under the guise of "defence," they are escalating and provoking conflict with a nuclear power, inviting general war on our continent, which would soon engulf the world.

Warnings of the terrific stupidity of their actions fall on blank faces and deaf ears. Millions of people's lives are being carelessly wagered by these dangerous, incompetent fools.

The failure and complicity of our media means this is poorly understood by a huge number of people in Europe. We can only hope our societies will be spared ever coming to that understanding the hard way.
