🔆Eastern Maritime Corridor (EMC):

The Chennai-Vladivostok Sea route, also known as the EMC, will link Russia's east coast with South India.
The EMC offers a significant reduction in both cargo transit time between India and the Russian Far East of up to 16 days and in distance by up to 40%, promising substantial efficiency gains in transportation.
Currently, the route from Mumbai to St. Petersburg, Russia, via the Western Sea Route and Suez Canal spans 8,675 nautical miles or 16,066 km.
At present, a large container ship from India takes around 40 days to reach Russia's Far East region through Europe.
In contrast, the distance from Chennai to Vladivostok via the EMC is significantly shorter, at only 5,647 nautical miles, or 10,458 km.
This translates to substantial savings of 5,608 km in distance, providing significant reductions in logistical costs and enhancing the efficiency of cargo transportation between Russia, India, and Asia.

🕸️Slovenia recognized a Palestinian state in june 2024 following in the recent steps of three other European countries.

🕸️ Slovenia’s decision came days after Spain, Norway and Ireland recognized a state of Palestinian, which was condemned by Israel. Previously only seven members of the 27-nation EU officially recognized a Palestinian state. Five of them are former East bloc countries that announced recognition in 1988, as did Cyprus, before joining the EU. Sweden’s recognition came in 2014.

Recently, Ireland, Norway, and Spain have announced that they will formally recognize the state of Palestine on 28th May 2024.

Around 144 out of 193 member-states of the United Nations recognise Palestine as a state, including most of the global south, Russia, China and India.
However, so far, only a handful of the 27 EU members have done so, mostly former Communist countries as well as Sweden and Cyprus.

📍Palestinian statehood and stand of India

India and Palestine have had a relationship since 1974, when India became the first non-Arab state to recognize the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).
In 1988, India was one of the first countries to recognize the Palestinian State.

In 1996, India opened its Representative Office to Palestine in Gaza City which was shifted to Ramallah in 2003.

India has advocated the resumption of direct negotiations towards establishing a sovereign, independent and viable State of Palestine living within secure and recognized borders, side by side at peace with Israel.
