Yahya Sinwar, a prominent leader of H*m*s, was killed on October 16, 2024, in a confrontation with Israeli forces. Born in Gaza and shaped by the hardships faced by his people, Sinwar was deeply committed to the Palestinian cause. His leadership in Hamas aimed at resisting Israeli occupation and advocating for the liberation of Palestine. Sinwar, who spent years in Israeli prisons, became a symbol of resilience for many Palestinians, despite the challenges and hardships his community faced under occupation.

IIUMSU wishes our sincerest condolences to the bereaved family at this time. May Allah bless his soul and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
