🔹Hypertension can occur in both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism but patterns of blood pressure differ:-


◽️Hyperthyroidism can cause systolic hypertension with a wide pulse pressure.
◽️Hypothyroidism may cause diastolic hypertension

🔺The de Winter pattern is seen in ~2% of acute LAD occlusions and is often under-recognised by clinicians

🔻In treatment of hypokalemia potassium replacement with IV KCl, the rate of repletion should not exceed 10–20 mEq/hour through a peripheral IV and (up to 40 mEq/hour) through a central line.

For every liter of blood lost, about 3 liters of crystalloid fluid are typically given to make up for it. This is because only 1/3 portion of the crystalloid stays in the bloodstream, so more fluid is needed to replace the lost blood.
