Why do we launch it as a stand-alone course ?

We firmly believe that a student isn't as confident of Srinivas, Ghurye and Desai as much as they are of Marx, Weber, and Durkheim.

Since their introduction to these figures remain weak, their interest shatters and with that, their confidence too.

Since those who have done their foundation, either self or through other institutions, cannot afford the whole course, we launch it as a standalone course.

Deliverables

โœ…35 crisp classes starting from the basics (you can come blank slate).

โœ…3 Tests (2 sectional + 1 full length)

โœ…MCQ module for quick revision

โœ…PYQ included: We cover PYQs with completion of every topic.

โœ…No added pressure of extra handouts.

โœ… Current included: But we don't flood you with daily dose. Our focus is building strong base.

โœ… Answer writing session: coz until students write, they don't get it right.

Dear Students,

In the past 3-4 months, I met with many students and found some of the recurring problems commonly experienced by most of them.

My suggestion:

โ™ฆ๏ธAvoid overloading yourself with newspapers and magazines for Sociology:
While it might seem helpful to read multiple articles and publications, their direct utility for sociology is often very limited. We can easily provide you with multiple newspaper articles & PDFs everyday, it may give you short term enlightening moment, but it won't help you significantly in the long run.

โ™ฆ๏ธRather than spending time on current events every day, dedicate your energy to studying static sociological concepts in depth. This year's sociology paper is a clear indicator of the fact that current is close to redundant now.

โ™ฆ๏ธ Stop reading PYQ books or readymade solutions for questions. Until you hold a pen,  paper and brainstorm on your own, no PYQ book can help you. Today, many PYQ books are available and still people are struggling to write basics like  relevance of Weber's Ideal type, examples of positivism beyond suicide, and most unfortunate of all, students are writing scientists as the example of Merton's innovator. It's very unfortunate that the availability of multiple sources is turning out to be a Bane for students.

โ™ฆ๏ธNo teacher or credible person is making these PYQ books, it's all made by students who are looking for temporary work to meet their ends & these students, in turn,  are using ChatGPT to complete their work on time.

โ™ฆ๏ธ Don't confuse a list of thinkers with list of content. You don't get marks by dropping names, you have to drop concrete points and substantiate them with 'few' thinkers.

โ™ฆ๏ธLastly, finish your optional preparation by December end at any cost. Please Save your time & please stick to basics.

Hello students

We are relaunching our Sociology crash course-cum- test series for the students who are targeting to complete their preparation by December 2024.

The idea is to finish the major & core static subject like Sociology before the end of this year in disciplined manner.

Course structure can be checked in the PDF attached above.

Brief summary:
โ™ฆ๏ธ 2-4 classes before each test
โ™ฆ๏ธ We focus on conceptual clarity, answer writing and PYQ in these classes.
โ™ฆ๏ธ You will have your own short notes
โ™ฆ๏ธ 8 Tests
โ™ฆ๏ธ Discussion and model answer given for each test
โ™ฆ๏ธ Personalised mentorship (face to face) even for online students
โ™ฆ๏ธ Scale to keep a track of your performance vis a vis your competitors
โ™ฆ๏ธ Live strategy sessions after each test.

Deliverables in quantitative terms :
โœ…25 approx "Pre-recorded" crash course classes (2024 batch)
โœ… 7 "Fresh" Live lectures (both online & offline) to be taken after completion of each test.
โœ… 13-14 Test Discussion classes
โœ… Past 10 years PYQ covered
โœ… 8 Tests
โœ… 5 Days evaluation

All the Best โค๏ธ

How to make choices on the final day (Sociology exam) ?

โ™ฆ๏ธRule#1 Always go for the most 'static' question.

Static : any question which is directly from the syllabus or PYQ or any question whose demand is absolutely clear with 'minimum' confusion.

โ™ฆ๏ธRule#2 Never pick a question thinking that your choice of question will impress the examiner or you being the only person attempting that question will make you stand out in the crowd.

Question may be new or challenging or interesting to you, but to the examiner, it is just another question.

โ™ฆ๏ธRule#3  some questions are deceptive. They look very familiar at first glance and may tempt us into attempting them. Think through such questions properly and attempt only if you have 'sufficient' & 'concrete' content.

โ™ฆ๏ธRule#4 Not able to recall thinkers' names can't be the reason for not choosing a question. As long as you understand the demand and feel equipped with enough content to address the demand, you can't leave the question.

โ™ฆ๏ธRule#5 Whenever you are confused between choices, start comparing a question's subpart with another question's subpart. E.g. Compare Q2 with Q3a, similarly Q2b with 3b, or Q2c with Q3c. This will make it easier for you to make the right choice.
