India has categorised packaged drinking water and mineral water as "high-risk food."

The step taken by India’s food regulator indicates that these products will now undergo more stringent safety checks through regular inspections and audits.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) announced the reclassification following the government's October decision to remove the requirement for Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification from these products.

Under the updated guidelines, manufacturers and processors of packaged drinking and mineral water must now pass mandatory inspections before obtaining a licence or registration.

The move is effective immediately following an order dated on November 29.

As per the order, manufacturers need to undergo mandatory third-party food safety audits and comply with enhanced quality standards. Central licence holders in this category must now submit to annual inspections aimed at mitigating potential health risks associated with packaged water production.

These inspections will take place before they are granted a licence or registration.

The reclassification by the FSSAI follows recent amendments to the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011, which previously removed mandatory BIS certification requirements for certain food products.

The order said that “other food products for which BIS certification was mandatory are already identified as high-risk categories under FSSAI’s risk-based Inspection Scheduling policy..”

The reclassification is designed to strengthen consumer protection and maintain rigorous quality control in the packaged water industry.

"It is reiterated that all centrally licenced manufacturers under the High-Risk Food Categories shall get its business audited by FSSAI recognised third party food safety auditing agency every year," the order signed by Rakesh Kumar, Director (Regulatory Compliance Division), said.

"The list of High-Risk Food Categories now also includes Packaged Drinking Water and Mineral Water," said the order marked to all the state Commissioners of Food Safety, FSSAI regional directors and central licensing authorities among others.

This has come after the food safety regulator declassified dairy-based beverage mixes, cereal-based beverage mixes and malt-based beverages from being categorised as health drinks

இராஜமாளிகையாக 1912ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் இயங்கும் தொன்மையான RMKV சித்த மருத்துவமனை

சித்த மருத்துவத்திற்கு புகழ்பெற்ற முருகப்பெருமானின் நவபாஷாண சிலை வீற்றிருக்கும் பழனியில் மிக பிரம்மாண்டமாக இயங்கும் மருத்துவமனை ஆர்.எம்.கே.வி. சித்த வைத்திய சாலை ஆகும். இதன் நிறுவனர்தான் ஆர்.எம்.கே. வேலுச்சாமி அவர்கள்.

பழங்காலத்திலேயே டிபி, புற்றுநோய், மேகநோய், வெட்டை எனபல நோய்களை சித்த மருத்துவம் மூலம் குணப்படுத்தி, அதனை புகைப்படங்கள் மற்றும் சான்றிதழ்களாகப் பெற்று, தங்கள் மருத்துவமனையில் பெருமையாக காட்சிப்படுத்தி (research and documentation) சித்தமருத்துவத்தின் பெருமையை வெளிப்படுத்தியவர் ஆர்.எம்.கே. வேலுச்சாமி அவர்கள்.

1943ம் ஆண்டு பழனியில் சித்த மருத்துவமனையாக பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டு, பல்வேறு மருந்துகளை தயாரித்து வந்தார். அவருடைய மூத்த மகன் ஆர்.எம்.கே.சிவசுப்பிரமணியம் அவர்கள் அந்த மருத்துவமனையை தொடர்ந்து நடத்திவந்தார். பழனி ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனுக்கு தென்பகுதியில் மிக பிரம்மாண்டமாக ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனைவிட பெரிதாக தற்போதைய கார்ப்பரேட் மருத்துவமனைகளுக்கு இணையான வடிவமைப்புடன் அமைந்துள்ளது தான் ஆர்.எம்.கே.வேலுச்சாமி பிள்ளையின் ராஜமாளிகையான ஆர்.எம்.கே.வைத்தியசாலை.

பழனியில் மிக பிரம்மாண்டமாக அரண்மனை போல் காட்சியளிக்கும் ஆர்.எம்.கே.வி. சித்த வைத்தியசாலை தமிழ்நாடு மற்றும் வெளிநாடுகளில் மிக பிரபலமானது. தீராத பல்வேறு நோய்களை குணப்படுத்துவதே இந்த மருத்துவமனையின் சிறப்பாக மக்களால் கருதப்பட்டது.

முப்பை (Muppu) வைத்து பல்வேறு நோய்களை இவர் குணப்படுத்தினார். ஆகையால் இவர் மதுரை சித்த வைத்திய சங்கத்திற்கு தலைவராகவும், விளங்கினார். முப்பு சார்ந்த பல்வேறு ஆராய்ச்சி கட்டுரைகளை சித்த மருத்துவ மாநாடுகளில் சமர்ப்பித்துள்ளார். இவருடைய தாமிரபற்பம் மிகச்சிறந்தது. குஷ்டநோய்களை தீர்ப்பதற்கு இவர் தாமிரபற்பத்தை மிகச்சிறப்பாக வழங்கிவந்தார். தோல் நோய்களுக்கான சிறப்பு மருத்துவமனையாக இது விளங்கியது. ஆகையால் தோல்நோய்களை குணமாக்க இவர் பல்வேறு சிகிச்சை முறைகளை வழங்கிவந்தார்.

1927 மற்றும் 28 ஆண்டுகளில் ஏறத்தாழ சில நாட்கள் சென்னையில் தங்கியிருந்த வ.உ.சிதம்பரம் பிள்ளை அவர்கள் அங்கு அருகாமையில் தங்கியிருந்த ஆர்.எம்.கே.வேலுச்சாமி பிள்ளை அவர்களிடம் பலர் மருந்துகள் வாங்கி, சென்றதை கவனித்து, அங்குள்ள நோயாளிகளை விசாரித்தார். அப்பொழுதே கொடிய குஷ்டநோய், தழும்புள்ள நோய்களை ஆர்.எம்,கே.வி. அவர்கள் குணப்படுத்துவதை அறிந்து, மிகவும் பெருமைப்பட்டார். அதனை பாராட்டி அவருக்கு கடிதம் எழுதி பெருமைப்படுத்தினார். வக்கீலாக விளங்கிய வ.உ.சி. அவர்கள் அதனை பெருமை படுத்தும் விதமாக ஆர்.எம்.கே.வி. அவர்களுக்கு கடிதம் எழுதி பாராட்டியது மிகச்சிறப்பான விஷயமாகும்.

பழனி தண்டாயுதபாணி சிலையை தேர் வடிவத்தில், தண்டாயுதபாணி நிற்கும் நிலையில் 1912ம் ஆண்டே டிரேடுமார்க் ரிஜிஸ்டர் பதிவு செய்து, சிகிச்சை செய்து பெருமை பெற்றவர்.

ஆர்.எம்.கே. சாலையில் வழங்கப்படும் மருந்துகள் மிகச்சிறப்பானவை. தாமிரபற்பம்‌ இங்கு வழங்கப்படும் மருந்துகளில் மிகப்பிரபலமானது. இதைத்தவிர தோல் நோய்களுக்கு விஷ மை, சொறி, சிரங்குக்கு பரங்கிப்பட்டை சூரணம், மேக நோய்களுக்கு மேகமெழுகு மற்றும் அயகாந்த செந்தூரம், ஆறாத புண்களுக்கு இரணசஞ்சீவித்தைலம், இரத்தம், எலும்பு, நரம்பு அவைகளில் வெப்பம் அதிகரித்தால் தோன்றும் ஐயம் நீங்க, பவளம், கல்நார் பற்பம், சரீர எரிச்சலுக்கு அயச்செந்தூரம், இரணங்களுக்கு புரைஎண்ணெய், சிலந்தி பிளவைகளுக்கு கொட்டைமுத்து பக்குவம், கண் எரிச்சலுக்கு பாதாமிஎண்ணெய், பீனிசம் உடையவர்களுக்கு சங்கஇலைத்தைலம், மூக்கில் ரத்தம் வருவதனை நிறுத்த அஸ்வகந்தி தைலம், மருந்து சூடு தணிய மூதண்ட கசாயம், நாட்பட்ட கடுமையான வியாதிகள் குணமாக நிலகண்ட ரசபற்பம், மலச்சிக்கலை நீக்க மலபந்த நிவாரணி, குழந்தைகளுக்கு வரக்கூடும் கபால நோய்கள், கண்குத்தல் ஆகியன நீங்க சாரவல்லி லேகியம் மற்றும் கணவெண்ணை, கண்நோய்கள் நீங்க நேந்திரம் பூண்டு எண்ணெய், ரத்தவாந்தியை நிறுத்த பித்தகாச நெய், கிராணி மலப்போக்கு நீங்க கபாட லேகியம், கபாட செந்தூரம், இளைப்பு நீங்க தாளகபஸ்பம், சூதகக்கட்டினால் வரும் சுரத்திற்கு கோரோசனை மாத்திரை, நாட்பட்ட இருமல், விடாத இருமல் நீங்க தாளகபஸ்பம், ரசபஸ்பம், காந்த சத்து செந்தூரம், 13வகை ஜன்னி, 7வகை தோஷம், நீங்க வான்மெழுகு, தீராத இளைப்பு இருமலுக்கு ஜெயவீரலிங்கபஸ்பம், மருந்துகளினால் தோன்றும் இருமல் நீங்க இம்பூரா கசாயம், கஸ்தூரி மாத்திரை, தாதுபுஷ்டிக்கு தங்கபஸ்பம், நரசிங்க லேகியம், உடலில் வரும் வீக்கம் நீங்க நாயுருவி கசாயம், ஆண்மை குறைவை நீக்க கிருஷ்ணலீலா காமேசரி குளிகை, ஆண்மை குறைவை நீக்கும் தங்கமாத்திரை, குன்ம வயிற்றுவலி நீங்க சவுக்கார சுண்ணக் குழம்பு, வாயுத்தொல்லை நீங்க வாயுபுத்திரன் குளிகை

இயல்பாகவே மூலிகைகளைப் பற்றி ஆர்வம் கொண்ட ஜி.டி.நாயுடு, பப்பாளி மரத்தில் வெள்ளரிக்காய், மாங்காய் போன்றவற்றை காய்க்க வைத்து, விஞ்ஞான அதிசயத்தை ஏற்படுத்தினார். அவ்வாறு ஒருமுறை தன் பப்பாளி மரத்தில் வளர்ந்த காய்களையும். பழங்களையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு சர். சி.வி.இராமன் அவர்களை சந்தித்தார். அவரிடம் பப்பாளி மரத்தில் வெள்ளரிக்காய், மாங்காய் ஆகியவற்றை காய்க்க வைக்க முடியுமா எனக் கேட்டார். சர். சி.வி.இராமன் முடியாது. மிகவும் கஷ்டம். இதுபோல் செய்ய இயலாது என கூற "பப்பாளி மரத்தில் இந்த வெள்ளரிக்காயையும், மாங்காயையும் நான் காய்க்க வைத்தேன்" எனக் கூறி அதனைக் கொடுத்தார். இது அதிசயம் என சர்.சி.வி.இராமன் அவர்கள் ஜி.டி.நாயுடு அவர்களை பாராட்டினார்.

ஜெர்மனிக்கு சென்ற ஜி.டி.நாயுடு அவர்கள் அங்குள்ள டாக்டர்களிடம் சித்த மருத்துவத்தை பற்றி குறிப்பிடும் பொழுது சித்த மருத்துவத்தில் தங்கம் மிகச்சிறப்பாக பயன்படுகிறது என்றும், அவ்வாறு பயன்படும் தங்கம் உடலுக்கு எந்த பாதிப்பையும் ஏற்படுத்தாது என்றும் குறிப்பிட்டார். அதற்கு உதாரணமாக தான் ஒரு மூலிகைச்சாற்றில் தங்கத்தை கரைப்பதாகவும், அதனை எந்த வேதிப்பொருட்களாலும் தங்களால் மீன்டும் பிரிக்க முடியாது எனவும் குறிப்பிட்டார். உடனே அங்குள்ள அறிஞர்கள் இதனை சவாலாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு நீங்கள் மூலிகைச்சாற்றில் கரைத்துக் கொடுங்கள், நாங்கள் அதனை பிரித்து எடுக்கிறோம் என கூறினர். ஜி.டி.நாயுடு அவர்களும் சில மூலிகைகளை சாறு எடுத்து சில பொருட்களை சேர்த்து கரைசல் தயாரித்தார். அதில் குறிப்பிட்ட அளவு தங்கத்தை விட்டு அரைத்து கரைத்தார். அந்த மூலிகைச்சாற்றில் தங்கம் கரைந்தது. பின் இதனை பிரித்தெடுக்க கூறினார். எவ்வளவோ முயன்றும் அங்குள்ள அறிஞர்களால் அதனை பிரித்தெடுக்க முடியவில்லை. ஆம், இதுபோல்தான் நாங்கள் சித்த மருந்துகள் செய்யும் பொழுது தங்கத்தை மூலக்கூறுகளை மாற்றி மருந்தாக அமைக்கிறோம் என குறிப்பிட்டார்.

Siddha Suttigai(Siddha Cautery) Treatment Hands-on Training was held on 10.11.2024 in Royal Court, Madurai. 32 participants comprising of Govt.& Private Siddha Doctors, CRRI's and Students from various Siddha Medical Colleges were taught to treat various diseases through Siddha (Suttigai)Cautery. Our vision is to alleviate the sufferings of Epileptic patients and their family members in a couple of years. Siddha Suttigai(Cautery) Treatment was used to treat Seizures by our grandpa's & grandmothers. Siddha literatures also substantiate this treatment protocols by mentioning various points that can be used in Curing the Seizures/ Decreasing the Seizure episodes. With a good intention to see Seizure free public in future, Siddha Suttigai Treatment for handling Epileptic patients were taught to the participants. Besides, Treatment protocol for minimizing the adverse effects of Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy were also taught. Workshop was organized by Dr.Amuthavalli, a practicing Siddha Physician. Workshop's atmosphere was Serene and awesome.

அகத்தியனார் தினமும் சித்த மருத்துவ தினமும்

அகத்தியர் பிறந்த தினம் சித்த மருத்துவ தினமாக மத்திய அரசால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு முதன் முதலாக தேசிய சித்த மருத்துவ தினம் 04.01.2018 ஆம் ஆண்டு கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. அதற்கு முன்பாக தமிழ் வருடப்பிறப்பு சித்திரை 1 சித்த மருத்துவ தினமாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. ஆனால் மத்திய அரசு பல்வேறு சித்த மருத்துவ வல்லுநர்களின் கோரிக்கைகளுக்கு இணங்க தன்வந்திரி ஜெயந்தி தேசிய ஆயுர்வேத தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுவது போல் அகத்தியரின் பிறந்தநாள் தேசிய சித்த மருத்துவ தினமாக கொண்டாட ஆணையிட்டது. தற்பொழுது 8ம் சித்த மருத்துவ தினம் வரும் டிசம்பர் மாதம் 19ஆம் தேதி கொண்டாட இருக்கிறது.

போகர் 7000 நூலில், சைவ வேளாளர் மரபில் மார்கழி மாதம், ஆயில்ய நட்சத்திரம், 3ஆம் காலில் பிறந்த 48 தலைமுறைகளை உடைய நான்கு யுகம் வயது கொண்ட அகத்தியரின் பிறந்த தினம் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. அதன் அடிப்படையில் அகத்தியர் பிறந்த தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

இறைவன் சிவபெருமானின் திருமண விழாவினை கண்டு களிக்க வடதிசை சாய்ந்து, தென்திசை உயர்ந்ததால் சிவன் அதனை தடுத்து நிறுத்த குடமுனி, கடேந்திரன், கும்பமுனி, குறுமுனி, அகத்தியன், என்றெல்லாம் அழைக்கப்படும் அகத்திய முனிவரை தென் பொதிகை செல்ல பணித்தார். அகத்தியரும் தங்கள் திருமணக்கோலத்தை என்னால் காணஇயலாதே என வருந்த சிவன், உங்கள் மனம் மகிழும் வண்ணம், திருமணக்கோலத்துடன் தென்பொதிகை வந்து காட்சி அளிப்பதாக அகத்தியருக்கு உறுதி கூற அதனை தொடர்ந்து அகத்தியரும் தென்பொதிகை வந்து சேர, அங்கு சிவபெருமான் பார்வதியுடன் தனது திருமண திருக்கோலக் காட்சியை அகத்தியருக்கு வழங்கினார். அப்பொழுது சிவபெருமானின் செல்வன் சேவற்கொடியோன் என்ற முருகன் செந்தமிழை அகிலமெல்லாம் பரப்பி அழியா நிலை அடைந்து அருள்பெற்று, அவரிடம் அகத்தியர் முக்தி பெற்றதாக தமிழ் நூற்களும், மருத்துவ நூற்களும் குறிப்பிடுகின்றது.

நவகோடி சித்தர்களுக்கு முன்னோடியாகவும், தேரர் முதலிய சித்தர்களுக்கு குருவாகவும், 18 சித்தர்களுக்கு தலைமை சித்தராகவும் விளங்கிய கடமுனி, குடமுனி, கும்பமுனி, மருத்துவ மாமுனி என்று அழைக்கப்படும் மூலகுரு அகத்தியர் சோதிடம், மந்திரம், மாந்திரிகம், யோகம், ஞானம், தத்துவம் மற்றும் மருத்துவத்தில் சிறந்து விளங்கினார். ஆகவே அகத்தியரது பிறந்தநாள் சித்த மருத்துவ தினமாக கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

அகத்தியர் பிறந்த தினம் அகத்தியனார் தினமாக 30 டிசம்பர் 1966 ஆம் ஆண்டு தஞ்சை அரண்மனை மூத்த இளவரசர் இராசாராம் சாஹிப் அவர்கள் தலைமை வகிக்க, சித்த மருத்துவ ஆராய்ச்சி குழு அதிகாரி சண்முகவேலன் சிறப்புரையாற்ற, திரு.வெங்கடசுப்பிரமணி சாஸ்திரி வரவேற்புரை நிகழ்த்த திரு எம் சீராளன் நன்றி கூற மத்திய அரசின் ஆதரவுடன் தஞ்சை சரஸ்வதி மகாலில் அகத்தியனார் தினம் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.

ஆண்டுதோறும் கொண்டாடப்பட்ட அகத்தியர் தினத்தை சித்த மருத்துவ சங்கங்கள் அனைத்தும் அகத்தியர் வாரமாக கொண்டாட முடிவு செய்தனர். அதனை சித்த மருத்துவர்கள் அனைவரும் இந்த மருத்துவர் வாரமாக அன்றைய ஒரு வாரம் முழுவதும் அகத்தியர் சிலை திறப்பு, இலவச மருத்துவ முகாம், மருத்துவ கண்காட்சி என அனைத்தும் நடத்த முடிவு செய்தனர். அதன் முதற்கட்டமாக அகத்தியர் தினம் சித்த மருத்துவ தினமாக கொண்டாடப்பட்ட நாள் 6 ஜனவரி 1969, திங்கள்கிழமை (திருவள்ளுவர் ஆண்டு 1999 கீலக ஆண்டு மார்கழி மாதம் 23வது நாள்).

சித்திரை முதல் நாளை சித்தர் தினமாக கொண்டாடும் பழக்கம் அப்பொழுது இல்லை. ஆகையால் அகத்தியர் பிறந்த வாரத்தை சித்த மருத்துவர்கள் அனைவரும் சித்தர் வாரமாக ஒன்று கூடி கொண்டாடினர். அதற்கான முதல் விதை துவக்கப்பட்டது ஜனவரி 6, 1969 ஆம் ஆண்டு.

அதனடிப்படையில் 06.01.1969ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழ் நாட்டு அமைச்சர்கள் முன்னிலையில் முத்துக்கருப்பப்பிள்ளை, மூலிகைமணி கண்ணப்பர், பண்டிதர் ஆனந்தம், சிற்சபை அவர்களால் அகத்தியனார் ஆண்டு நிறைவு விழா முதன் முதலாக மதுரையில் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. அப்போதைய சுகாதார அமைச்சர் சாதிக்பாட்ஷா அவர்கள் அகத்தியர் தினத்தை துவக்கி வைத்தார். இதனை சித்த மருத்துவ தினமாக அனைத்து சித்த மருத்துவர்களும் கொண்டாட உறுதி கொண்டனர். அன்று முதல் ஒவ்வொரு அகத்தியர் தினமும் ஒரு வாரம் முழுவதும் சித்த மருத்துவ வாரமாக பல்வேறு சங்கங்களால் கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. சித்த மருத்துவ தினத்திற்கான இந்த சிறப்பு கட்டுரை தொகுப்பு: சித்த மருத்துவர் ஜெ. ஜெயவெங்கடேஷ், மதுரை
