⛄️ Never interrupt a compound interest!
Selling stocks in moments of panic is the worst possible decision.
Such investors will have to build a new snowman every winter.

How am I feeling right now? Totally calm.
Who's losing money now? Is it investors? No, of course not.
The ones who are currently losing money are speculators, leveraged investors, gamblers and those who have lost their nerve.

As for me, nothing has changed:
⭕️ I've been living off the dividends.
⭕️ I never got up at 7 a.m. for work before and I still never do
⭕️ Now I’ve got more cows
⭕️ More milk (almost twice as much as last year)
⭕️ Milk % yields have increased
⭕️ My average stock prices are lower than current prices

So what am I doing right now? Same plan. I'm exchanging cash for stocks that have dropped in value.

😱 In wise books the risk is measured by the standard deviation of expected returns. In other words, how intensively your portfolio value can be "disrupted" in a particular asset class and in a particular country.

More precisely, how much you can get scared and do something stupid. As for me, I don't get scared by price fluctuations anymore. I perceive them as horror movies. When I was a kid, after watching a scary movie we couldn't fall asleep for a long time. And now during a bloody scene we more often yawn or even smile.

So the question is, who is the most susceptible to such horror movies? Newcomers are. And that's despite the fact that most of their portfolio involves money that they haven't even earned yet.

🚭 Today they put frightening photos and inscriptions on cigarette packages. Everyone is used to it by now.

I don't know whether such propaganda works or not. But now there are noticeably fewer smokers on the streets of Moscow.

🤑 Will we live long enough to see the same signs on consumer items?

Maybe there would be fewer poor people then, too.

✈️ In the event of a cabin depressurization, the oxygen mask must first be put on yourself and only then on the child.
©️ Passenger safety instructions.

The quote above has already become a saying but many investors still ignore it.

I will send this picture to anyone who calls me selfish. There is nothing wrong with selfishness. Moreover - selfishness benefits not only me, but also all my loved ones.

⚔️ What if there is a war or a revolution tomorrow?

🛖 Should you buy a house in Siberia?
🛂 Should you get multiple passports?
🔫 Should you keep an arsenal of weapons at home?

The more mature of an investor I become, the more I realize all of the listed above options are expensive and silly.
✈️ There's no point in preparing a backup runway in case your plane crashes.

Which one of them will be the first one to retire?
Peter randomly chooses one and puts $750/month aside.
Karl has a balanced portfolio and puts $50/month aside.

Here is a typical dialogue with one of my subscribers:

Subscriber: Did I choose the right stock? 📈

Me: It doesn't matter. You can pick at random.🔀

Subscriber: What do you mean "at random"? 😲

Me: It's simple! You are in the accumulation phase. Your portfolio is not yet formed. The future is unknown. And the main role in living off capital is the savings rate.😜

P.S.
🙈 Here is an idea from one of my previous articles. The monkey who saves $750 each month and chooses shares RANDOMLY will retire much sooner than the exchange "expert" who studies the market day and night, puts together a balanced portfolio, but does not know how to earn OUTSIDE of the market and save up.

🔮 A new year has arrived. Once again, the Armageddonists are popping up from everywhere.

They say that a powerful collapse awaits us.

Maybe they are right, maybe not.

📈📉 Personally, I do not know where the market will go. But I am ready for any scenario - decline, growth, stagnation. I am ready both psychologically and financially.

🤷‍♂️ The same cannot be said about Armageddoners. These “oracles” think that they know the future. Perhaps they do. But they are massively unprepared for their own predictions.

Ammunition, stewed meat, matches and a few thousand dollars in the account will not save the “oracles” in the crisis.

Salary is a stronger drug than heroin. The addiction is instantaneous. The symptoms are just like those of an addict:

⭕️ You quickly become addicted to the dose.
⭕️ You're anxious to increase your dose.
⭕️ When you overdose, you go crazy and often lower your expectations of yourself.
⭕️ Living from dose to dose. You count the hours and even minutes.

🧠 I usually write articles for those who accumulate capital through salary and/or business income. Such investors act gradually and the process of accumulation takes 10 or even more years.

But then there are those who don’t need to be taught the theory of how to earn and save. These are the people who have received their capital all at once

How should they proceed? There is very little information about such situations in the books.

I shall Immediately answer the main question — buy all at once or gradually? Figures show that it is better to do it all at once.

So that’s a quick math lesson for you. But in real life it’s not like that. I regularly encounter rookies with money and fear in their eyes at the same time.

📚 One time, back in my youth I went to a bookstore. On the shelves I saw an edition of "Boxing for Beginners". I bought it and brought it back home. For a couple of days I tried to repeat the moves in front of the mirror. Then I put the book on the shelf and forgot about it. The book was gathering dust until I threw it away. I didn't learn how to fight, unfortunately.

🥊 Now I go to boxing training regularly. At first I stood in front of the mirror and worked on my feet. But when I started sparring I forgot everything, I didn't even hit my opponent once. I realized that in order to progress in this sport I needed a special type of intelligence that I couldn't possibly get from theory.

It's very much like the process of investing. At the start, you learn the theory. But the very first light punch puts you in a bind. Right this second I have beginners emailing me with questions such as "what do I do?" Basically, it's the same thing we talked about earlier.
