1.Social norms often define Masculinity as independence, decision making power, and freedom. When these are compromised. Men might experience identity crisis or social stress.

2.The Husband disappearance could be an act of resistance against these altered power dynamics or reaction to feeling disempowered.

3.The man going to missing could reflect the Internal conflict between societal expectations of masculinity and his lived reality of limited freedom

4.Irawati Karve - Karve’s studies on Indian kinship and family systems shed light on how power is distributed within families. The wife’s dominant role can be seen as disrupting this traditional balance, causing stress or withdrawal from the husband.

5.A.R. Desai - Desai’s Marxist analysis of Indian society suggests that family dynamics often mirror broader societal struggles. The conflict in this scenario can be viewed as a reflection of changing gender roles and power relations in modern India.

6.Structural Functionalist
The man’s absence could indicate a breakdown in the functional equilibrium within the family, where traditional roles are challenged, leading to instability.

7.Conflict perspective the wife’s control over the husband can be seen as a struggle for dominance, resulting in conflict.
The husband’s response (going missing) might be a manifestation of resisting what he perceives as an oppressive environment.

World-Systems Theory :- Immanuel Wallerstei.Wallerstein argued that economic and political inequalities between countries drive migration. He suggested that people migrate from peripheral (less developed) regions to core (more developed) regions in search of better opportunities due to systemic inequalities in the global capitalist system.

Emile Durkheim: Durkheim’s focus on social stability and the functions of social institutions can be applied here. You might analyze how civil unrest disrupts social institutions in Bangladesh (such as the economy, government, and social cohesion) and how this disruption leads individuals to migrate. The migration can be seen as a response to the failure of these institutions to provide stability and security.

Karl Marx: Marx’s ideas about class struggle and economic inequality can be useful in understanding how civil unrest in Bangladesh, driven by economic and political inequalities, prompts migration. The theory would focus on how the unequal distribution of resources and power leads to social conflict and migration as a survival strategy.
