Will the course to meet the transition to practice requirement be completed online or in person? How long will it take to complete? And how much will it cost?
This will depend on the course format established by schools offering the course. There will be online options available so that you can complete the course if you live outside Ontario. Most applicants should be able to complete this program in 12 weeks or less. You will be able to learn more about the details of the course and the cost from participating schools once the course is approved by CNO and open to applicants for admission. CNO Council will approve courses from participating schools in December.
What does the course focus on?
The course will focus on 31 safety critical competencies, that we know from research, will support transition to nursing practice in Ontario. For example, adjusting to the level of autonomy expected in the practice setting and adapting practice to meet client care needs within a continually changing health care system.
