My guess what Russian IRBM warheads could look like based on Iranian MRBM

6 MiRV released from the bus (right khaki color much smaller ) , each carry 6 "red" type kinetic penetrator ~ 30-50 kg

Other land-based missile systems of smaller calibers do not reach Dnepropetrovsk.

It is likely that this is a separating warhead of an ICBM with programmable warheads.

Surprisingly, the arrival is very dense and the spread is relatively small.

Lets make a working conventional precision ICBM

We got some old Topol M or older gens lying around (hundreds) after got replaced by Yars E , stocks are not a problem

We take the warhead section of Iskander M (red) from the factories
Guidance section (Blue)
Discard the yellow stage (solid fuel) no need LOL

With minimal engineering 3 Iskander M warhead can be mounted on one old icbm

Mass 1.2 t for 10 000 km
2.4 t > 5000 km
4.8 t > 2500 km ✅ 3 Iskander RV ~ 3x 0.8 t= 2.4 t doable with 10 meter CEP accuracy

We used an old missile and turned into 3 Iskander M > the targets needs to be near each other because no engine present only steering which is not a problem ( we seeing 3-5 iskander hits on one site in a few km radius )

There you go , with larger redesigning budget > 6 warhead possible in 2 bus on top of each other and fully balanced and strengthened stages to cope with the extra loads .
1 missile = 6 precision strikes 500 kg HE each not so shabby

Can russia use obsolete ICBM s (hundreds available) to bomb ukraine with heavy conventional warheads - technically yes but ..

Its not possible under Putin because its not accurate and will hit everything around which he is clearly against . Currently only good for city bombardment /carpetbombing

Yes it can be upgraded to precision standards and added terminal homing capability (control fins) to ~10 CEP
5-10 tonne payload possible in MRBM range mode not 1.5 tonne what hohols talking about
