Another data point only ….. my water/sewer/garbage bill now has a “remit to” location in Dallas, Tex. It used to be a PO Box in Baton Rouge. This change happened on my last bill. Last months bill still showed the “remit to” address in Baton Rouge 🤔

I asked my mom one time why they didn’t teach us French. My mom and all of her siblings spoke French as their first language. As did my grandparents and great grandparents. My aunts and uncles had to learn English prior to starting school. Her response was “it wasn’t the right thing to do. We were taught to be proud to be an American and grateful for the opportunity to live in America”. I was like “why would you want us to forget about our roots?”
