Future generations will be hard pressed to understand the last year; it will be a conundrum for them. How will historians write their memoirs and observations….harder yet, if the victors (which is you) write the history; how will you encapsulate it down to an understandable concise thought or phrase, upon which you can expand in most any direction…including time…past, present and future!?!
We are at a cross roads in so many categories ; it is practically unfathomable. I’ve referred to this moment for many years as our country’s Ester moment. It is a ‘Biblical’ instant where the flow of history, time and circumstances inexplicably flip and turn like a boomerang! In the Bible story in the book of Ester (the 17th book of the Bible), all the children of Abraham were scheduled for imminent destruction but in a moments time, via a Divinely orchestrated reversal of fortune, Haman the political architect of the intended holocaust was hung on a petard of his own creation and lifted high above the walls of the palace for all to see his agonizing and tortuous departure from this world.
In the wake of his demise, a plan was put in place so that the people he had sentenced to death could in fact have a chance to make alliances and prepare not just to defend themselves but actually win on the appointed day when their enemies intended to kill them all.
Several years ago I did a presentation on the Ester story which you may enjoy listening to.
I’m recollecting this story because this crossroad we are at today in the political arena seems equally Biblical like a modern day Ester moment.
The Election Day is over and there is no argument that Trump won both the popular vote and the electoral college vote…but it’s not over-over quite yet! It’s been my stated opinion for years that the 2024 election would not be completed on time; either Election Day would be compromised or the actual inauguration would be obstructed or delayed. It’s beginning to look like I might yet be correct…!
There are several parallel efforts that may yet be attempted to stop or delay President Trump from being sworn into office. Just yesterday on December 26th, the lead story on many national news casts including Fox News was the information that Speaker Johnson may not get re-elected speaker of the house because of his handling of the recent budget bill. As a consequence there is no guarantee that he could get the Speakers position when the House votes at the beginning of the 119th session on January 3.
There could be another protracted selection process to get agreement within the House of Representatives to vote in a new Speaker. There is no clear alternative/challenger for the speaker position at this time. The House cannot do ANY business until a speaker is agreed on and voted into place by a simple majority. It took 15 votes to reach majority last time and it was only after Trump intervened on behalf of Johnson. It’s looking doubtful that Trump will endorse the Johnson as the Speaker again. Even if he does it may hurt not help Johnson this time around. In the mid-1800’s it took several weeks to seat a speaker!!!
Without a speaker, the electoral college votes cannot be heard and certified. If no Speaker is agreed to by January 20th at noon, the Biden/Harris term ends (provided we are not at war which pauses change of administration) and a temporary President is seated based on the Constitutionally directed order of succession.
If and when the Electoral College vote occurs (on Jan 6 or later) there are rumblings that many democrats will seek to block the election of Trump by stopping certification of the election on the grounds that Trump meets the criteria and legal definition of an insurrectionist as described in the 14th amendment to the Constitution. It is their contention that the Republican Party ran a candidate that was Constitutionally disqualified for any Federal position for life.

(Fun little side note, much research has been done over the years and many argue quite convincingly that the 14th Amendment was never actually ratified and therefore not enforceable!!! )

How would delay benefit Trumps enemies (notice I didn’t limit myself to Democrats)??? If a hot war (not a policing action) were to breakout in the Mideast or Ukraine, it could escalate to a ‘State of War’ where ‘Constitutionally’, a change of Administration cannot occur. Turkey, our NATO ally is threatening to invade Lebanon and Jordan because of Israel’s handling of the Hamas debacle. Since they are a NATO ally, could that trigger a legal definition of America being technically at ‘War’ according to our treaties with other NATO members? Would that tactic and delay be accepted by the American voters?
If the use of advanced American weapons by our Ukrainian Proxies becomes to unbearable, Putin could choose to raise the stakes, we could have the ‘Cuban Missile Crisis’ 2.0. With one mis-step, the missiles could be flying! What would that trigger? If you’ve listened me for long, you know what I think! If you look at the Bible it’s full of number mysteries that show Divine authorship beginning with setting a ‘7’ day week for all His creation to observe. Seven is the number of completion, perfection and rest.

It is the point where future events can be seen to affect/effect the past and the present! For those who are spiritual but may not believe the future can affect/effect the past and vice versa…do you think the the pre-telling of the end of the age in the Bible as recorded by John in Revelations or as recorded by Daniel while he was a slave in Babylon have affected the intervening generations and their actions to this moment? Let’s be clear: Ukraine did not attack Russia with US ATACMS missiles yesterday.
* The ATACMS missile system requires periodic course correction and continual inflight monitoring, inputted by manual operators w/ US NAT SEC access codes. Does anyone think we are just giving these codes to UKR?
* The ATACMS uses geospatial and weather monitoring technology to self-regulate during its flight time, including minor flight-path alterations, orientation changes, altitude changes, etc. This requires the missile system to maintain a continuous uplink to US targeting systems, and NATO satellite-based guidance and recon systems.
* The ATACMS launch procedure requires the entry of classified US missile launch codes. Again, does anyone think the US is just going to give these codes to Ukrainian operators, in the middle of a war zone, w/ Russian military intelligence monitoring every byte of data in or out of the area?
