जब हम शेयर मार्किट में निवेश करते हैं जहाँ हमें मिलने वाले Returns हर साल एक समान नहीं होते हैं बल्कि बदलते रहते हैं तो हमारे लिए यह समझना मुश्किल हो जाता है कि हमारा निवेश कैसा प्रदर्शन कर रहा है| जिस कारण से किसी अन्य विकल्प के साथ हम अपने निवेश का तुलनात्मक अध्ययन नहीं कर पाते हैं |

हम एक Example लेते हैं जिसमे हमने 5 साल के लिए 1000 रूपये निवेश निवेश किये है जिसमे हमें पहले साल 18%, दूसरे साल 11% , तीसरे साल -7%, चौथे साल 26% और पांचवे साल -5% का Return मिलता है | जिससे 5 साल बाद हमारा निवेश Rs.1000 से बढ़कर Rs.1458 हो जाता है | 5 साल में मिलने वाला Absolute Return (458/1000)*100%=45.8% है |

लेकिन किसी निवेश के Returns का मूल्यांकन करने के लिए यह तरीका सही नहीं है क्योंकि Absolute Return से हमें यह पता नहीं चल पाता कि हमारा निवेश किस दर से बढ़ा है या बढ़ रहा है । यहां पर CAGR हमारे बहुत काम आता है।

Here CAGR = (1458/1000)^(1/5)-1=7.8%

हम कह सकते हैं कि हमारा निवेश इन पांच सालों में हर साल 7.8% की दर से बढ़ा ।

हम एक और example लेते हैं जिसमें हमने 100 Rs को एक साल के लिए निवेश किया है और एक साल के बाद उसकी वैल्यू 108 Rs हो जाती है (उदाहरण के लिए Fixed Deposit मैं किया गया निवेश ), तो इसका CAGR होगा 8 % |

हम एक और example लेते हैं जिसमें हमने 100 Rs को 6 महीने के लिए निवेश किया है और 6 महीने के बाद उसकी वैल्यू 108 Rs हो जाती है, तो इसका CAGR होगा 16.64 % |

हम एक और example लेते हैं जिसमें हमने 100 Rs को 3 महीने के लिए निवेश किया है और 3 महीने के बाद उसकी वैल्यू 108 Rs हो जाती है, तो इसका CAGR होगा 36.05 % |

The dreadful month of October is FINALLY over. FYI - the Nifty fell -6.2%, the worst monthly fall since the Covid crash of March 2020. FIIs sold over $10 billion due to a range of factors. But what you really want to know is: what will November look like?

One way to predict the future is to look at the past. If you look at Nifty performance data from 1994 to 2024, it shows us that November has been a decent month. In the last 29 years, November has closed in the green 16 times with an average Nifty gain of +1.5%. & this is pretty good.

Having said that, past returns can’t always accurately predict the future. These are also average gains: there have been multiple years in which we’ve had negative returns in November including 2021 and 2017 most recently.

Finally, there’s a bunch of chaos triggers at play. US elections are a flip of the coin at this point with Kamala and Trump both having their own negatives. Q2 earnings season has been weak AF. The economy is slowing down. The RBI has been slow to cut rates. FIIs are increasingly looking to China as an India alternative. So be careful in the months ahead!

⭐️Trade on charts, not on other people’s opinions⭐️

In today’s age, you can easily access a ton of information from Twitter, Facebook, Telegram and many other trading forums.

The problem is…

It hurts your trading results.

Here’s an example.

Imagine, Someone posts a chart on Reliance and explains why he is bullish on it.

Next, there are 100 thumbs up and a flood of comments agreeing with the analysis.

So you quickly buy the stock of Reliance hoping to make a quick profit out of it.

Now here comes the critical part…

What if the price of Reliance drops 20%?

Do you sell, hold, or buy even more?

You don’t know because you’re trading based on the opinion of someone else.

You might be wondering:

“Well, I’ll just ask the original poster for an update on Reliance.”

Then one of these will likely happen…

•He sold his position for a small profit and you didn’t know about it
•He sold his position for a small loss but you’re still holding the stock
•He doesn’t reply to you

Either way, you’re on the losing end.

Do you see what I mean?

So, never trade based on the opinion of others.

They won’t tell you how long they plan to hold the trade, when to cut loss, and when to take profit.

Understanding Timeframe of a chart

You should understand the time frame of a chart. Please note that breakout chart setups on weekly time frame may last for few weeks to several months. There are instances where we have seen movement of 10-25% or even more in a single week, however, there are also instances where we must wait several weeks for any sizable movement. Similarly, chart setups on daily time frame may last for few days to several weeks.

Whenever there is a breakout in a stock, it does not mean the stock will move abruptly in the direction of the breakout. It may move fast, or it may take a little longer in giving a reasonable return. If you go through various charts posted by us, you will find that a stock on a weekly chart may be in a range of 5-10% (or sometimes a negative return) even after 2-3 months. However, these stocks have the potential of giving 100% or even more than that in a year.

It is better if you spend time on charts of previous setups to find how breakout trading works. Patience is the key.

Important steps while trading:

1. Look at the market direction. If it is favorable, then search for..

2. Valid Technical setup (e.g. Trendline breakout/Channel breakout/any other researched chart pattern). You may have to go through many charts to find the perfect setup. Once a chart pattern is located..

3. Check Fundamentals of the stock. e.g. Earnings, Revenue, Profit Margins, PEG Ratio, P/E Ratio, Debt to equity ratio etc.

If you follow these three steps, you will find yourself trading with best of the stocks.

Rest is position sizing, risk management and trade management.
