Minority Leader in the St. James Municipal Corporation, Michael Troupe, says residents near the Retirement dump in the parish, have complained of a recent incident where meat disposed of at the site was retrieved and taken to market for sale.

🇺🇸 Footage released showing a Tennessee security guard calmly taking down an attempted mass shooter in Chattanooga, Tennessee 1/26/2025.

A gunman had started firing at a group of people outside of the Dream nightclub when the guard jumped into action. The man who fired into the crowd was hit by the security guard before he could take any lives.

Head of security Joe Reed thinks the attack was planned, revealing security footage of the 24-year-old suspect parking his car down the road before attacking.

"It was quick action by our licensed security guard who did what he had to do to protect innocent lives," said Reed.

The suspect was injured with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Guardian is reporting that Japan is to flood the market with almost a quarter of a million tonnes of stockpiled rice in an unprecedented attempt to arrest soaring prices caused by record summer heat, panic buying and distribution problems.

Agriculture minister, Taku Eto, says the government will release up to 210,000 tonnes of rice, as consumers battled a surge in prices of more than 50 per cent in recent months.

Surveillance footage showed the man's truck crashing into a much larger tanker truck in Brazil on Wednesday.
