The scholars, the heirs of the Prophets, have warned and cautioned against seeking knowledge and benefiting from unqualified sources, particularly those who rose to fame solely through social media, without any genuine connection to authentic scholarly traditions.

Many people in the 2010s dismissed these warnings and labeled those who spoke out as "extremists" and "too harsh".

Now these same people are witnessing the consequences of their negligence, and it's only the tip of the iceberg.

Al-Hasan Al-Basree رحمه الله is reported to have said:

"The scholar sees fitna before it arrives, while the people only recognize it after it has passed."

Only seek Islamic knowledge from the people of Sunnah who have obtained it directly from the rightful inheritors. Those who have devoted years of their youth, traveled long distances, and humbly sat on the floor to learn directly at the feet of the Scholars of Ahl-Sunnah.

❌ Warning Against Celebrating Halloween ❌

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

To proceed:

1️⃣ Halloween has pagan origins that date back to the ‘Samhain’ festival, celebrated on October 31 each year in Celtic culture. Over time, these pagan traditions blended with Christian practices, forming what we now know as All Hallows’ Eve (Halloween).

2️⃣ It is believed that on Halloween, evil spirits and ghosts roam the earth as the barrier between the human and spirit worlds becomes thin. To protect themselves from these spirits, people engage in various rituals:

Costume Wearing: People wear frightening costumes to disguise themselves, supposedly making the spirits think they are one of them, thus avoiding harm.

Pumpkin Carving: Pumpkins are hollowed out, carved with scary faces, and a candle is placed inside. This tradition is believed to ward off evil spirits.

Trick-or-Treating: Children dress up and go door-to-door collecting candy. This activity is rooted in the idea of offering food to appease or satisfy the spirits.

3️⃣ Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned in his book “Iqtida’ al-Sirat al-Mustaqim” that there is a consensus among scholars that attending the holidays of non-Muslims is forbidden.

4️⃣ Additionally, giving a gift on this day is seen as cooperating with them in sin and transgression, thus acknowledging this un-Islamic celebration, which is forbidden. Congratulating them on such occasions is unanimously considered impermissible, so gifting is even more objectionable.

5️⃣ Selling items that help non-Muslims celebrate their holidays is prohibited for Muslims, as it falls under cooperation in sin and transgression. Allah Almighty says, “And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.” [Al-Ma’idah: 2]. Such occasions are prohibited due to the serious issue that they relate to matters of disbelief.

From the Qualities of the Slaves of Ar-Rahman - Shaykh Abdur-Razzaaq al-Badr حفظه الله

الصفة الثالثة : خوفهم وإشفاقهم من عذاب النَّار

The Third Quality: Their Great Fear of the Punishment of the Hellfire

قال عز وجل : [وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا * إِنَّهَا سَاءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا ] ـ

Allah said:

وَالَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا * إِنَّهَا سَاءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّا وَمُقَامًا

And those who say, “Our Lord, avert the punishment of Hell away from us. Indeed, Its torment is an inseparable, permanent punishment. * How evil it is as an abode and as a place to dwell. [25:65-66]

فعباد الرحمن مع إحسانهم بالعمل والتعبد لله ، قد خافوا ووجلوا من عذاب الله وسخطه وهذه حال المؤمنين الكمل؛ كما قال الله : [ وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوا وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ ] أي: يقدِّمون ما يقدِّمونه من عباداتٍ وطاعاتٍ وقلوبهم خائفةٌ أن ترد عليهم أعمالهم، فيصيبهم بعد ذلك عذابٌ من الله . ـ

Despite the goodness that they have in their actions and seeking to draw closer to Allah, the ‘ibad al-Rahman – the slave of the Most Merciful – feel great fear and apprehension about Allah’s punishment and displeasure. This is the way of the complete believer. It is just as Allah has said:

وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوا وَّقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ

And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord [23:60]

Meaning: they send forth whatever acts of worship and obedience they send forth while their hearts are fearful that their deeds will be rejected and as a result they will end up being afflicted by punishment from Allah.

فهذا صفة عظيمة من صفات عباد الرحمن ؛ أنهم يحسنون في أعمالهم ، وفي الوقت نفسه يشفقون أن لا تقبل منهم . ـ

This is one of the amazing qualities of the ‘Ibad al-Rahman – that make excellent work with their deeds while at the same time they fear that these deeds will not be accepted from them.

From the Qualities of the Slaves of Ar-Rahman - Shaykh Abdur-Razzaaq al-Badr حفظه الله

ومن صفات عباد الرحمن الظاهرة محافظتهم على أداء الصلاة التي هي أعظم الأعمال البدنية، فرضًا و نفلًا، لاسيما صلاة الليل، فإنها سنةٌ مؤكدة عن رسول الله وجاء في فضْل المحافظة عليها أحاديث عديدة، ولهذا جاء التنصيص عليها في الآية السابقة أنها منْ صفات عباد الرحمن. ـ

One of the visible characteristics of the ‘ibad al-Rahman – the slaves of the Most Merciful – is their steadfast observance of the prayers, which are the greatest form of bodily worship. They faithfully perform both the obligatory and optional prayers, especially the night prayers which are an especially emphasized sunnah of Allah’s Messenger. There are many hadith narrations regarding the virtue of faithfully observing the night prayers, and in this ayah there is an explicit mention that this is one of the characteristics of the ‘ibad al-Rahman.

ومما ورد في فضْل قيام الليل قوله : أفضل الصلاة بعد الفريضة : صلاة الليل . ـ

Among those texts regarding the virtue of the night prayers is the Prophet’s statement, “After the obligatory prayers, the best prayer is the night prayer.”

وقال : عليكم بقيام الليل ؛ فإنه دأب الصالحين قبلكم ، وهو قربة إلى ربكم ومكفرة للسيئات ومنها للإثم . ـ

He also said, “Hold fast to the night prayers, for it was the practice of the righteous people before you and it is a form of drawing close to your Lord, an expiation of bad deeds, and a prevention against sins.”
