Chile has rapidly emerged as one of Latin America’s most dynamic startup ecosystems, often referred to as the "Singapore of Latin America" due to its strong parallels with Southeast Asia's growth trajectory.
Join us for an insightful session with Javiera Araneda, CEO of Startup Chile, the country’s leading government-backed accelerator. Javiera will share valuable insights on why Chile and Latin America present exciting opportunities for student entrepreneurs through NOC Santiago, as well as for startup founders (even at the pre-seed stage) aiming to expand into this thriving market. She will also discuss the funding and resources available through Startup Chile to support these ventures.

UWB RTLS Demo
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to showcase a demo on the Ultra-Wideband Real-Time Location System (UWB RTLS) this week.
📍 Location: Sandbox @ the Innovation and Design Hub (EA, Level 4, Room #04-06)
📅 Date: 25th October 2024 (Friday)
⏰ Time: 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM
About the Project:
This project implements a UWB Real-Time Location System (RTLS) with powered anchors and tags. The hardware is based on the DW1000 module, and the tag’s location is published to ROS2 via micro ROS for easy interfacing and visualization.
Use Case of UWB RTLS:
• asset tracking
• sensor fusion with LiDAR
• UAV localisation
Students are welcome to leverage the current implementation in their own projects if needed.
Current Capabilities and Limitations:
• Supports multiple anchors and a single tag (at least 3 anchors for 2D multilateration and 4 for 3D).
• Interfaces with ROS2.
• Achieves ±30 cm accuracy — a major improvement over the previously implemented BLE RSSI-based localization, which had ±3 m accuracy.
Note: This project is still in its infancy stage, and there are many improvements that can be done.
