UPDATE - Wednesday, Nov. 29th
It’s acknowledged that a community update is long overdue. The source of delay has to do with the unique structure of the overall project, its current state of development and the nature & terms of a global collaboration involving an increasing number of companies and organizations. This set of dynamics has made it very challenging to post the kind of substantive update and firm timeline that our community deserves. And although we had also previously agreed within the community that “announcements of coming announcements” should be avoided, under the current circumstances, an update of a more general nature will have to suffice at this time.
Over the past several months, solid progress has been made on select ecosystem components — including groundbreaking work by multiple development teams on the marketplace network, the system of DAO governance and elements of the underlying decentralized infrastructure. In addition, the formation of a strategic alliance of agriculture and food production companies has been underway in Thailand.
Given the scale of what is being developed, the complex interdependencies, and the increasing number of collaboration partners, a formal launch of the project will not be possible until the first half of 2024. White papers and formal timelines for the various components of the project will start to be published in early 2024.
Inevitably, the further delay of the launch of this new era of our ecosystem (and in particular, the added delay of access to PowerDAO operations) will be a source of disappointment within the community. In these circumstances, it is worth remembering something that was covered in previous communications: to ensure successful outcomes for everyone holding GRN, the PowerDAO must open alongside at least one of the two major projects planned for the ecosystem (i.e., the marketplace network and the food security platform). Without the context of at least one of those two projects, there will not be adequate enough value and utility to support the anticipated market dynamics. The silver lining to this situation is that those two major projects will now be working in combination and will launch together, since it was recently agreed that food products will be the first products to be offered within the marketplace network.
The aforementioned strategic alliance in Thailand will play a foundational role in establishing a global system of value exchange initially featuring the production and distribution of food products. Thailand is a logical starting place for the food alliance, given its excellent climate, high quality food production, and wonderful culture. Multiple Thai production companies have already started working with us, and thousands of Thai farmers as well as many other wholesalers and food production companies are expected to get involved in the coming months. It’s also anticipated that soon after its launch, the alliance will quickly expand to include farmers, wholesalers and food production companies operating from within a number of other countries.
It’s also important to emphasize that each participating collaborator in this alliance will be incentivized to purchase various amounts of GRN (with each threshold conveying additional benefits) since GRN will be fundamental to the operations of our global food alliance as well as the utility token of the entire ecosystem. In addition, multiple corporate members of this alliance have already committed to making significant purchases of GRN and investments in ecosystem infrastructure.
Also, as part of the food alliance, a system of global standards will be established to promote excellence in the growth of agriculture and production of food products, ensuring all are clean, pure and healthy. Unlike with conventional agriculture and food production processes throughout the world today, the food products distributed through our network will NOT contain any substances that are poisonous for humans or animals.
