This bill was specifically tailored to allow Trump to run again, but would prevent Obama from running against him.

A bill (H.J.Res.29) was introduced in the U.S. House on January 23, 2025, by Rep. Andrew Ogles, proposing a constitutional amendment to modify presidential term limits. It would allow a president to be elected up to three times but not for three consecutive terms. Currently, the 22nd Amendment limits a president to two terms. For this amendment to pass, it would need two-thirds approval in both the House and Senate and then ratification by three-fourths of state legislatures. Right now, it's in the early stages, referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

To those who believe Project 2025 is a good idea - let me tell you, as a very conservative Christian myself, I see it as dangerous right wing extremism. There is a reason I warned against it last year and expressed my firm disapproval.

The major underlying purpose of Project 2025 involves restructuring the federal government to expand presidential authority, potentially disrupting the established system of checks and balances. This shift is meant to support "imperial presidency," diminishing the roles of Congress and the judiciary, and this ultimately threatens the foundational principles of US democracy.

They intend to gut public services and literally stack the federal level with Republican supporters. If you can't see why that is a problem, then you likely need to take some time to study history.

This behaviour is incredibly concerning, not to mention in the project there is written a plan to erode relationships with close allies, take on a more imperialist mindset, and cut back on support for veterans and vulnerable populations.

It's layered with borderline fascist ideologies that smack of 1930s Germany, and I was and continue to be in opposition to the project. That is not how you govern democratically nor represent people well.

If you want an eventual totalitarian state, by all means follow that manifesto. I don't particularly care how much good is proposed within those pages - if the goal is government overreach with intention of crushing the system of checks and balances meant to prevent a president from achieving total power and control, then every critical thinker should have alarm bells blaring internally.

The only one who should be ruling in such a manner in the west is God Himself. There's a reason we don't have kings and queens here. It's because of how much corruption they cause.

Not to mention Trump is actively coming after my own sovereign nation with war-mongering statements and blatant lies befitting a dictator, exactly the rhetoric Hitler pushed against the surrounding nations. I'll call a spade a spade. I appreciate his support of Israel and his push for conservative values, but to erode democracy is very wrong and the people will suffer as a result of these choices.

Taiwan detected six Chinese balloons near the island, according to the Defence Ministry on February 7.

In addition to the balloons, nine Chinese military aircraft, six warships, and two official ships were also observed near Taiwan.

The number of balloons reported is one of the highest recorded, according to an AFP tally of the military data.

Downtown San Francisco also experienced its first ever tornado warning issued in its history today.

A tornado touched down in the Northern California town of Scotts Valley near Santa Cruz Saturday afternoon, flipping cars and knocking down power lines, according to authorities. Several people were hurt, fire officials said.

The incident happened at around 1:40 p.m. around the 200 block of Mount Hermon Drive. Scotts Valley police initially posted an alert on social media advising residents to avoid the area following a multi-vehicle accident that had multiple power lines down and completely blocked the road in all directions.

Police later posted an update saying that witnesses reported it was not an accident "but rather a possible tornado" that touched down near the Target store at 270 Mount Hermon Drive "and threw multiple cars off the road."

Israeli airstrikes struck a Syrian airbase near Damascus, targeting the Qabr Essit Airport, a former Assad regime hub for helicopter operations, south of the capital near Aqraba.

Simultaneously, additional strikes hit a branch of the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Center in Damascus, a facility reportedly linked to Assad’s chemical weapons program. Reports of a strong smell in the city are followed by unconfirmed reports of individuals experiencing suffocation symptoms.
