Here's a brief explanation of each type:

1. MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker): Used for small-scale applications and protects against overload and short circuits. It automatically switches off the circuit during abnormal conditions.

2. ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker): Detects earth leakage currents and prevents electrical shocks. It disconnects the circuit if any current flows through unintended paths, such as human bodies.

3. RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker): Also called RCD (Residual Current Device), it detects current imbalances between live and neutral wires. It provides protection against electric shock and leakage currents.

4. MCCB (Molded Case Circuit Breaker): Used for higher power circuits. It provides protection against overloads, short circuits, and under-voltage situations in industrial and commercial setups.

5. ACB (Air Circuit Breaker): Operates in an air medium and is used for high voltage applications (typically above 800A). It is common in industrial plants and large electrical systems.

6. VCB (Vacuum Circuit Breaker): Operates in a vacuum. It is suitable for medium to high voltage applications (typically from 11kV to 33kV) due to its excellent arc quenching properties.

7. MOCB (Minimum Oil Circuit Breaker): Uses oil for arc extinction and is used in medium-voltage applications. The oil acts as both an insulator and a cooling medium.

8. BOCB (Bulk Oil Circuit Breaker): Similar to MOCB, but uses a larger quantity of oil to extinguish the arc. It's typically used in high-voltage applications.

9. SF6CB (Sulfur Hexafluoride Circuit Breaker): Uses SF6 gas for arc quenching, making it suitable for high-voltage applications. It is highly efficient in arc suppression and insulation.

Each type of circuit breaker has its specific applications based on voltage, current levels, and the type of protection needed.
