The following is a statement from the IDF Spokesperson's Office in the Etzion Brigade regarding the arrest of a suspect involved in multiple burglaries in Gush Etzion and Efrat:

"Closing the Circle: Suspect Behind Recent Home Burglaries in Efrat Arrested"

This morning (Thursday), security forces from the Efrat community, in coordination with brigade forces from Battalion 21, apprehended a suspect outside the community fence. He was subsequently transferred for further investigation by the security forces.

Following the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was responsible for multiple burglaries and thefts in the community.

The Etzion Brigade, in collaboration with all security forces, will continue working to ensure the safety of residents in the area.

היום בבוקר (ה׳), כוחות הביטחון של היישוב אפרת בשילוב כוחות החטיבה מגדוד 21 עצרו חשוד מחוץ לגדר הישוב, והעבירו אותו להמשך חקירת כוחות הביטחון.
לאחר בירור הובן כי מדובר בחשוד אשר ביצע מספר פריצות וגניבות ביישוב.

כוחות חטיבת עציון בשיתוף עם כלל כוחות הביטחון ימשיכו לפעול על מנת להגן על תושבי הגזרה".

Earlier this morning, before 08:00 AM, the Efrat Security Center identified a suspect approaching the fence in the Tamar neighborhood. Following standard protocol, security forces, rapid response teams, and military units were immediately dispatched.

The security teams arrived swiftly, guided by the security center, and apprehended the suspect *before* he could enter Efrat. As part of the standard arrest procedure, our forces fired warning shots.

The suspect, a known Palestinian offender, has previously broken into several homes in the Gush area and committed a series of thefts.

We extend our gratitude to all those involved for their quick and effective response.

At no point was there any threat to residents or the community.
The preschool children in the Tamar neighborhood were taken into the Mamad as instructed by the Security Division.
Notifications were sent to the parents.

לפני השעה 08:00 מוקד הביטחון של אפרת זיהו חשוד שהתקרב לגדר בשכונת התמר, ולפי הנוהל הקפיצו את לוחמי אגף הביטחון, כיתות הכוננות וכוחות צבא.
מערך האבטחה ואגף הביטחון הגיעו תוך זמן קצר ביותר למקום בהכוונה של המוקד, ותפסו את החשוד *מחוץ לגדר* והוא לא הצליח לחדור לאפרת.
בוצע ירי תקין על ידי כוחותנו כחלק מנוהל מעצר החשוד.
החשוד שנתפס הינו פלסטינאי המוכר לאגף הביטחון ולמשטרה שפרץ בעבר למספר בתים באזור הגוש וביצע סדרת גנבות.
אנו מבקשים להודות לכל המעורבים על התפיסה המהירה של החשוד.
בשום שלב לא נשקפה סכנה לתושבים וליישוב.
ילדי הגנים בשכונת התמר הוכנסו לממ"ד בהנחיית אגף הבטחון. הודעות יצאו להורים.

❄️ Like you, we are closely following the various weather forecast models and must patiently wait for a clearer picture of the incoming cold wave and storm expected to reach our area as early as tomorrow.

Today, an extended meeting was held with the council’s departments to prepare for the weekend, focusing on addressing extreme cold, icy roads, potential power supply disruptions, and their impact on services and infrastructure. Of course, we are also preparing for the possibility of snowfall.

💡 It is everyone’s responsibility to prepare in advance at home in case of prolonged power outages or difficulty in keeping roads clear:
- Ensure you have enough prescription medications for several days, warm clothing and blankets, safe heating devices, flashlights and batteries, and sufficient supplies of basic food and other essential items (such as infant formula, diapers, etc.).
- Please check that there are no loose objects on balconies or in yards that could be blown away and cause damage. Also, clear gutters for optimal drainage.
- If temperatures drop below 0°C, it is recommended to leave faucets dripping to prevent solar water heaters from bursting.

וודאו שיש בביתכם תרופות חיוניות במרשם למספר ימים קדימה, ביגוד חם ושמיכות, אמצעי חימום בטיחותיים, פנסים וסוללות, והצטיידות מראש במוצרי מזון בסיסיים ומוצרים חיוניים אחרים בכמות מספקת (כגון תמ"ל, טיטולים וכיוצ"ב).
