I’ve been reading and learning about this word, and if you know are familiar with it, please share your wisdom and perspective on it.

Golden hour on the mountain horizon! With @free_lukee / “I captured this video in the Dolomite Mountains in South Tyrol, Italy, near Toblach. Toblach is a municipality in Northern Italy, located in the Puster Valley about 70 kilometers northeast of Bolzano, near the Austrian border.
Whether for the view or the challenge, climbing the mountainous peaks around Toblach-Dobbiaco is the best way to experience this beautiful region. With +20 peaks, it can be hard to know which ones to explore during your visit. Four that stand out, in my opinion, are:
1) Paternkofel, located near the famous Drei Zinnen, separated by the Paternsattel.
2) Croda del Becco - Seekofel, offering a beautiful all-around view. It is a 4-hour ascent from the parking lot at Pragser Wildsee and easy to climb from the Seekofelhütte to the summit cross.
3) Monte Elmo offers a lookout to the main Alpine ridge (Großglockner, Großvenediger) and the Dolomites (Dreischusterspitze).
4) Strudelkopf provides a view of the Sesto Dolomites with Haunold and Drei Zinnen.
Additionally, here are other photography spots in the Dolomites you should visit, and I always recommend:
5) Lago di Dobbiaco: This lake, surrounded by mountains, offers stunning reflections, making it a perfect spot for capturing nature’s beauty and symmetry.
6) Seceda: Situated in the Val Gardena area, Seceda is known for its unique, jagged peaks and breathtaking panoramic views, ideal for landscape photography.

Spiritual awakening is often seen as a life-changing and inspiring journey that’s supposed to fill your life with light and joy. And yes, that will absolutely happen—but after going through some tough stages first.
Awakening means you start seeing through the lies and illusions that have been a part of your reality. The fake world you thought was real begins to fall apart.
One of the hardest parts of spiritual awakening is losing your sense of identity. As the ego fades and all the societal expectations you’ve been following start to fall away, you might find yourself asking, “Who even am I?”
The things that used to define you—your job, your relationships, or the roles you played in life—can suddenly feel meaningless. It’s like being stuck in a strange in-between space, trying to figure out what’s next.
Letting go of your old self while your new self hasn’t fully emerged can leave you feeling down and lost. It’s a challenging stage of awakening where you feel raw, vulnerable, and exposed—almost like being stripped bare.
At times, it may even seem like you’ve regressed instead of progressing on your journey.
In fact, this stage is essential for creating space for the new you to take shape. It’s natural to feel a sense of confusion or even grief as you let go of what once felt familiar and safe.

True Canadian winter steelhead fishing. With temperatures hovering around -11 degrees, the most challenging parts while fishing is keeping the eyelids of your rod clear from ice, keeping your reel dry so it doesn’t freeze up when the fish tries to pull drag, and last but not least is keeping your hands from going numb. I don’t recommend fly fishing in these temperatures, but we sure had a fun time!

I’ve been to quite a few hot springs but these might be my favorite! These are located in the most magical forest and are the only natural hot springs I’ve found that offer a private experience!
✨What to Know Before Visiting Bagby
- it’s $5 to use the springs (per person) so bring cash
- toilets are at the trailhead and springs
- it’s 1.5 miles each way (3 miles round trip)
- there are 3 “communal” tubs located close together and one private tub
- when we went it was about a 30 minute wait for the communal tubs and an hour for the private tub
- the water is HOT and you can cool it down with the hose provided
- be considerate and spend about 30-40 minutes in the springs if people are waiting
- Leave No Trace! Pack out everything you bring in!
This trail and many others in Oregon had been improved by @trailkeepersoforegon, a nonprofit group of volunteers who do trail maintenance!

I can’t decide if I’m joking about my love for that log. But none of these pictures would’ve been possible without it. So I’ve decided: no, I’m not joking. It’s a great log, and I love it.
I’ve posted one of these photos previously, so I’ll share what I said before:
I’m so excited about this picture. To me, it’s about friendship and the infinite possibilities of summer. This picture has been in the works for years, believe it or not. I found the log four years ago on the side of a bike path and I carried it back to my car on my bike. Each year since, I’ve made a bit of progress in setting up the shot, but I’ve always run out of time. Finally this spring I managed to plant the vine at the base of the log, and all summer I’ve been steering its growth to sit nicely around the hole. I dropped everything when the flowers bloomed and WOO HOO, I got some pics!

Your heart is a vortex.

However noticeable change, the scary kind, is only possible through action and is the type of change that results in positive outcomes when you follow your intuition.

The word is a combination of the Latin word “terra”which means Earth, and the Greek suffix “phile” which means lover of.
For me, every day I get an opportunity to deepen my relationship and reverence for the land, and the healing and peace it brings.
This is such a beautiful gift that we have been given by God.
I read the other day that Gods first temples were in the woods. A place of worship and adoration.
I love His creation. The sense of awe and marvel I feel there. The intricate beauty of every little flower, and the melody of every bee and cicada.
Everything displayed like magic.
Worshiping together.
Every song, sound, and tree.
For me, every day I get an opportunity to deepen my relationship and reverence for the land, and the healing and peace it brings.

We designed the entire house around this porch. Hanna and I would bring folding chairs when there was nothing but stakes in the ground to determine the best angles to see the sunrise and set. Now we get to enjoy it as a family.
