Competency Test:
📌 Verbal Ability: Para-completion based question, Critical Reasoning questions, 1 RC based on a Biography on which factual questions (Direct from passage) were asked along with an Antonym of a word.
📌 Mental Ability: Data Arrangement based question
📌 Managerial Ability: Course of Action based questions
Overall, it was very easy even in comparison to NMAT, most students were able to finish the same in 25-30mins.
After the test there was a break for refreshments.
AI Based Interview:
A laptop was placed and behind that a panelist was sitting.
12 mins for AI based questions and then 2 mins for follow-up questions from panelist.
4-5 AI questions were based on the SOP provided by the student.
Student has mentioned about Work-experience of Audit with a Europe based client in SOP, along with desire to go for CFA.

What is happening in European Economy and how will it affect India?

📌 NMIMS has opened up the application process by lowering the cutoffs massively. Everyone who has been shortlisted, now has a chance to get into NMIMS Mumbai.
With just a 20% weightage to NMAT score, a difference of 16 marks in NMAT will only make a 1 mark difference in the criteria. Nothing which can’t be managed.
It will, by and large, boil down to performance in the Competency Assessment.
So, whoever has been shortlisted (whether with high NMAT score or low), must login to the NMIMS account, fill the form and book a slot before the deadline. And then make travel arrangements to Mumbai! 😀

NMIMS has declared the cutoffs for the second round. Cutoffs are the same for all campuses! 62 in each section and 209 overall.

📣 Now that the response sheet has been released, please check your predicted percentile by uploading it on the CL site (https://www.careerlauncher.com/cat/uploadCat.jsp). However, note that there are only 3 colleges with deadlines that fall before the actual CAT percentile results are announced. For all other colleges, it’s advisable to wait until the official CAT results are declared before applying.
The 3 colleges which will get over before the CAT results and you will have to apply based on your predicted percentile:
1️⃣ IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade)
⏳Application Deadline: 5th December
Action: Please check the earlier shared cutoff details and apply before the deadline if your predicted percentile aligns with the IIFT criteria.
2️⃣ TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) Only for those interested to specialise in HR.
⏳Application Deadline: 9th December
Action: TISS is participating in CAT for the first time, so there are no past cutoff data.

📌Candidates with at least 2 years of full-time work experience may also consider applying for ODCL(Organizational Development and Change Leadership), but only if their expected percentile is 92+.

Action: Start working on the application ASAP as it’s a detailed process.
Although this is a brand new program, ISB is highly reputable, and it is expected to become one of the top programs in the country, comparable to SPJIMR, MDI etc.
Profile-Based Shortlisting: ISB will consider your academic record, awards, achievements, LORs, essays, and CAT score. Apply only if your predicted CAT percentile is 90+, and you have a strong overall profile with excellent LORs and essays. Even with slightly lower CAT scores, a strong profile may enhance your chances.

For other institutions with later deadlines, we recommend waiting for the official CAT results before applying. We’ll provide a detailed list of expected cutoffs for these colleges, which will help you make more informed decisions.

Make sure to attend the non-CAT classes and appear for the mocks. Maintain the same rigour as you did for the CAT. The next month is important. Keep the momentum going.
The other important thing to look at is applying to various colleges under CAT. Apart from IIFT, TISS & ISB which will close by Dec 1st/2nd week and FMS/MDI/SPJIMR which are already closed, every other college will be available after the CAT results. So, don’t be in any hurry to apply to colleges.

📌 FMS has started the application process.
After many years, FMS will close its application before the CAT itself. Do note that it is amongst the best MBA colleges in the country and the absolute best when it comes to ROI. Also, there is zero weightage to profile in the initial shortlisting. Even in the later stages, the weightage to profile is minimal. For these reasons, the CAT cutoff required to get into FMS is extremely high.
Last few years, FMS has given 40% weightage to the score in VARC section and 30% each to the other two sections for PI shortlisting. Additionally, female candidates are awarded 5 diversity points.

IIFT (New Delhi & Kolkata) has announced 22nd November as the last date to apply. The date may not be extended. So, along with SPJIMR (Mumbai) and MDI (Gurgaon), IIFT is the third college that you will have to apply before sitting for the CAT. Will post placement, cut off and other details of IIFT in a few days.
Please note that all the other colleges like IMT, BITSoM etc will extend the last dates. So, no need to apply to these now.
