*Clarification on JAMB Registration for National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Admission 2025*

The JAMB registration process for NOUN students is primarily for *generating a unique JAMB Registration ID or Number*. This ID is essential for completing your admission process at NOUN and may also prove useful for other purposes, such as employment verification or educational documentation, in the future.

It is important to understand that this registration is not the same as applying to write the JAMB examination. *As a NOUN student, you are not required to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The purpose of this process is simply to obtain an official registration ID from JAMB to formalize your admission and align with national education requirements.

_In summary, the JAMB registration is strictly for generating a JAMB ID, and no examination is involved._

Good News for All Students!

The management has temporarily removed the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) requirement for attempting TMAs.

Possible Reasons:

*Email Delivery Issues: Many students had trouble receiving the MFA code in their student email, and some didn't get it in their alternative email either.

* Trap. Warning Against Third-Party Help: Be cautious of others offering to help with your login, especially if they’re using software or app that could compromise your results and semester. Always prioritize security and avoid giving out your login details to those you don't trust.

Make Use of This Opportunity Before MFA is Reintroduce!

Stay safe and take advantage of this temporary access!

Best Regards,

*Clearing the Air on Current Happenings at NOUN*

1. *2024_2 Registration Status:*

As of now, there is no official closing date for the 2024_2 semester registration. However, it’s always a good idea to register as early as possible to avoid any last-minute rush or potential technical issues.

2. *TMA Timeline and Deadlines:*

You might be concerned about the upcoming TMA, which is scheduled to begin on October 30th, and whether you'll be able to complete it before it closes. Here’s how it works:

- While TMA 1 starts on October 30th, it will not close individually. Instead, it remains open until TMA 3 is released.
- All three TMAs (TMA 1, TMA 2, and TMA 3) typically close together. This final deadline is likely to be in December, but the exact date will be announced by NOUN.
- This means even if you register as late as November 10th, you will still be able to complete TMA 1, TMA 2, and TMA 3, provided they are still open at the time.

*Important Note:* One downside to registering late is the potential delay in having your courses uploaded to the eLearning portal. The system uploads courses in batches, and it can take up to 7 days after your registration for your courses to appear. Nonetheless, once your courses are uploaded, you will be able to start working on your TMAs right away.

3. *Examination Updates:*

There is no specific date for when examinations will begin, whether for P.O.P (Pen-On-Paper) or e-Examinations. The most important thing right now is to focus on preparing for your exams in advance. Keeping up with your studies and TMAs will help you stay on track, regardless of the exam dates.

4. *Facilitation Sessions:*

Participation in facilitation is *not mandatory*. If you feel confident in studying and understanding the course materials on your own, you can proceed without attending facilitation sessions. However, if you find that you need additional support, feel free to join the *Online Facilitation*. These sessions can help clarify difficult concepts and give you the chance to interact with facilitators.

5. *Laboratory Courses:*

For those taking laboratory-based courses, note that your study center may not always follow the laboratory timetable listed on the NOUN student portal. To avoid confusion, I recommend visiting your study center directly to check their specific laboratory timetable. This will ensure you have the correct schedule and don’t miss any practical sessions.

If you need any NOUN Assistance that bothers you, you may reach out to Admins or visit your study centre for guidance.

*2024_2 Semester Registration Update*
Registration for both examinable and non-examinable courses is ongoing. You can get a detailed breakdown of your fees here: (https://fee.bbcnoun.com.ng/).

*E-Learning Portal*
The e-learning portal is now up and online facilitation begins on October 7th. It's essential to have your e-learning portal set up. Returning students should use their existing password. New students, keep an eye on your student email for your temporary password.

*Important Update on Student Portal Glitch*
The issue of free credits or auto-semester registration in the student portal has been resolved by management. If you took advantage of this glitch, please check your portal again as everything has been reset to normal—NOUN doesn’t offer free bonuses! 😂

If you paid an agent to handle your registration, it’s wise to check your portal to avoid unnecessary issues.

*Key Reminder*
"Your student email is the gateway to your portal." Without it, you won't be able to access most portal services.

Thank you.
