France plans to double its defense budget. This was announced by the country's President Emmanuel Macron said during the live broadcast.

European observers will remain in Armenia's border regions for another two years, until February 19, 2027.
Earlier today, the ambassadors of the European Union countries approved the decision regarding the EU civilian mission in Armenia in Brussels, according to RFE/RL.
According to the source, the European Union has kept the mission's mandate unchanged, first established two years ago. The mission aims to reduce incidents in Armenia's border and conflict-affected regions, lower the risk for populations living in these areas, and contribute to the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations on the ground.
The composition and number of observers, according to the draft decision, will remain the same: 165 international observers and 44 Armenian staff.
The decision must also be approved by the EU foreign ministers in the near future.

Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Land Forces of Azerbaijan, Hikmat Mirzayev visited Kilis, Turkey, on the border with Syria.

Azerbaijani servicemen participated in a meeting with the command of the Turkish special forces, according to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

According to Azerbaijani media, Mirzayev has been on an official visit to Turkey since January 24. He met with the chief of the Turkish General Staff, Metin Gurak, and several other commanders.

🇫🇷The first batch of 120 mm self-propelled mortar carriers "Griffon MEPAC" France Army received.

Part of the Scorpion military program, the MEPAC is built on the Griffon multi-role armored platform. Weighing 24.5 tons, this all-terrain vehicle is designed to meet the needs of combined arms tactical groups (GTIA), delivering a critical balance of protection, mobility, and operational effectiveness. Operated by a crew of four, it is equipped with a 120 mm semi-automatic 2R2M mortar developed by Thales. This advanced system, based on the 120 mm RT mortar offers improved precision and a higher rate of fire compared to towed systems. Mounted on a rotating platform at the rear of the vehicle, the mortar can rotate 360 degrees and elevate between 40 and 85 degrees via a hydraulic system. Equipped with a computerized fire control system (FCS), an automatic laying system (ALS), and an inertial navigation system (INS), it is capable of firing up to 10 rounds per minute with a maximum range of 13 kilometers.

Another 54 MEPAC are to be delivered by end of 2028.

First Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia and Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Edward Asryan, on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the board attached to the minister of defense, and dedicated to the results of combat readiness, training, troop management, and the morale and psychological state of the Armenian Armed Forces in the academic year 2024, and the priority tasks of the academic year 2025.

Asryan, presenting in detail the work done according to the directions and the upcoming tasks, gave a number of instructions to the heads of the respective units towards the strengthening of the defense capability of the Armed Forces and the organizing of the military service more effectively.

At the end of the meeting, certificates and souvenirs were handed to the commanders of the divisions that recorded the best indicators in the results of the preparation for the 2024 academic year.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has unveiled its latest loitering munition drone, the Rezvan, during the ongoing military drills codenamed Great Prophet 19.

The drone, with a range of 20 kilometers and an operating time of 20 minutes, is designed for rapid deployment and targeted attacks, particularly in complex terrain, according to the IRGC.
