Subject: Important Updates on Campus Cat Attacks
I am Rizal, from UM Animal Guardians, a unit established under the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development) portfolio since August 2024. I am writing to update everyone on the recent concerning incidents involving horrific cat attacks on campus.
Summary of Incidents
• Four Attacks Recorded:
• 1st Case: Library (25th November)
• 2nd and 3rd Cases: Faculty of Business and Economics (12th and 16th December)
• 4th Case: PASUM (20th December)
Outcome: Dead cats with missing limbs.
Evidence
• CCTV footage captured the first two incidents involving the same group of dogs.
• No footage is available for the third and fourth cases.
• Reports indicate these dogs have also been involved in similar incidents in nearby PJ.
Efforts and Actions Taken
Capture and Relocation Plan:
• Since August, in collaboration with JHB, the Keselamatan Office, and a private animal management company, we have been working to capture and safely rehome the dogs.
• Despite allegations on social media, there has never been any intention to harm the dogs.
Investigation:
• Official reports have been filed, and we are working with DVS and PDRM to resolve this issue.
Cat Safety Measures:
• Our Vice-Chancellor has instructed all PTJs and colleges to secure and protect surrounding cats, especially at night.
• Cages and enclosures are available for those who need assistance—contact your TD or Kolej Pengetua if you’d like to help.

• For any dead or injured animals, contact Pejabat Keselamatan at 7967 7070.
