About Prakrit Language:
There is no single Prakrit language. Rather, the term refers to a group of closely-related Indo-Aryan languages, whose defining feature was that they were the language of the masses as opposed to Sanskrit, which was restricted to the elites and high literature.
Historian A L Basham wrote in The Wonder that was India (1954): βBy the time of the Buddha the masses were speaking languages which were much simpler than Sanskrit. These were the Prakrits, of which several dialects have been attested.β

Moirang is where the Indian National Army (INA) unfurled the Indian flag after defeating the British on 14th April 1944.
ο»Ώο»ΏOn 14th April 1944, the INA under the leadership of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, along with the Japanese forces, captured Moirang, a small town in the Bishnupur district of Manipur, in India.
ο»Ώο»ΏIt was here that the INA first raised the Indian flag on Indian soil after over two centuries of British rule.
ο»Ώο»ΏINA Headquarters: After this victory, Moirang served as the headquarters of the INA's Provisional Government of Free India for a short period.
ο»Ώο»ΏThis further highlights the significance of Moirang in India's struggle for independence.

Along with Jyotirao, Savitribai started the Balhatya Pratibandhak Griha (βHome for the Prevention of Infanticideβ) for pregnant widows facing discrimination. This was inspired by a turn of events wherein a young Brahmin widow was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Andamans after she killed her newborn child. The man who had raped the illiterate widow refused to take up any responsibility for the child, driving the widow to infanticide.
