REUTERS: Members of President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team are drawing up a list of military officers to be fired, potentially to include the Joint Chiefs of Staff, two sources said, in what would be an unprecedented shakeup at the Pentagon.

The planning for the firings is at an early stage after Trump’s Nov. 5 election victory and could change as Trump’s administration takes shape, said the sources, who are familiar with the Trump transition and requested anonymity to speak candidly about the plans.
One of the sources questioned the feasibility of a mass firing at the Pentagon.

It was also unclear if Trump himself would endorse the plan, although in the past he has railed extensively against defense leaders who have criticized him.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to request for comment.

The second source said the incoming administration would likely focus on U.S. military officers seen as connected to Mark Milley, Trump’s former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

BREAKING: Two federal judges agreed Thursday to postpone criminal trials for defendants accused of breaching the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, agreeing that President-elect Donald Trump’s imminent inauguration could make the proceedings unnecessary.

Over the objection of the Justice Department, U.S. District Judges Carl Nichols and Rudolph Contreras — Trump and Obama appointees, respectively — said they wanted to conserve court resources and avoid hauling in dozens of potential jurors for cases that might be called off in a few weeks.

It’s the first time federal judges have acquiesced to the demands of Jan. 6 defendants for delays in anticipation of potential pardons from Trump, who has pledged to grant clemency to many people charged for their role in the attack on the Capitol.

“There’s a real possibility of that happening,” Contreras said after granting the delay motion offered by defendant William Pope.

Pope, who is representing himself, had been slated to go on trial in December on misdemeanor charges. (A felony obstruction charge against him had already been dropped as a result of the Supreme Court’s June ruling on the matter.) Instead, Contreras is eyeing trial dates in late February.

❗️Cellular carriers have told Congress they possess intact phone usage data from the vicinity where two pipe bombs were planted during the Jan. 6 incident, directly disputing FBI testimony that agents couldn't identify a suspect because the phone data was corrupted, a key House chairman tells Just the News.

The revelations from Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., the chairman of the House Administration oversight subcommittee, adds new intrigue to a debate that has gripped Washington for nearly four years: Why can't the FBI with so much evidence and manpower identify the suspect who planted the explosive devices at the Democrat and Republican Party headquarters hours before the Capitol was breached.

“In the days and weeks following January 6, 2021, the FBI opened an investigation into the pipe bomber and attempted to identify the suspect by analyzing cell phone data linked to the area surrounding the RNC and DNC,” Loudermilk told Just the News.

“In June 2023, the former Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Washington Field Office, Steve D’Antuono, who oversaw the pipe bomb investigation, said that the FBI received corrupted data from one of the cell carriers and that it most likely contained the identity of the pipe bomber. Given the significance of this information, my Subcommittee sent letters to the three major cell carriers, asking them to respond to Mr. D’Antuono’s claim of corrupted data,” he said.

“Every major cell carrier responded and confirmed that they did not provide the FBI corrupted data,” Loudermilk said.

“Additionally every major cell carrier confirmed they were never notified that the FBI had any issues accessing the data. This contradictory testimony raises some serious questions about the status of the investigation into the pipe bomber and about why the case remains unsolved nearly four years later,” he added.

Arizona's election management - even if there winds up not being a single fraudulent vote counted - is so bad that it alone demands remediation.

A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) official who instructed Hurricane Milton relief workers to skip homes with Trump signs has been removed from her role, a FEMA spokesperson tells Fox News, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is investigating the federal agency over the controversy. 

The FEMA official, who has not been named by the agency, instructed workers canvassing Lake Placid in Florida to "avoid homes advertising Trump," as they ascertained what residents could qualify for federal aid, according to internal messages first obtained by the Daily Wire. 

A FEMA spokesperson tells Fox News that it is "deeply disturbed" by the employee’s actions and says it is an "isolated incident." 

"FEMA helps all survivors regardless of their political preference or affiliation," the spokesperson said via a statement. 

"While we believe this is an isolated incident, we have taken measures to remove the employee from their role and are investigating the matter to prevent this from happening ever again."

It is unclear if the official was fired from the agency altogether. 

"The employee who issued this guidance had no authority and was given no direction to tell teams to avoid these homes and we are reaching out to the people who may have not been reached as a result of this incident," the spokesperson said, adding that the agency has helped more than 365,000 households impacted by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida and provided nearly $900 million in direct assistance to survivors."
