My writing site's tagline is Foundational Weapons for Modern War. Those foundational weapons are prayer, learning history, and vocally opposing the current assaults on us and our families. Trump isn't going to win those battles for us, we need to do the work to keep current in our own back yards. Case in point:
Last year Mat-Su Borough removed 56 sexually activist and/or pornographic books from their school libraries. Big victory, yes? Well it turns out that that victory was short-lived. The ACLU sued the Borough and thanks to a Federal judge and a cowardly settlement deal, not only does the Borough have to re-shelve 49 of those books, but the taxpayers will also have to pay the plaintiffs $89,000 for their troubles.
Keep in mind that several of these books are by Ellen Hopkins, an author who profits by writing pornographic young adult fiction including one (Identical 2010) depicting extremely graphic incestuous sex between a ten-year-old girl and her father. That's just one title a pedo-series that's back in thanks to a court and administrative system that's not fighting for us our our children.

Last year Mat-Su Borough removed 56 sexually activist and/or pornographic books from their school libraries. Big victory, yes? Well it turns out that that victory was short-lived. The ACLU sued the Borough and thanks to a Federal judge and a cowardly settlement deal, not only does the Borough have to re-shelve 49 of those books, but the taxpayers will also have to pay the plaintiffs $89,000 for their troubles.
Keep in mind that several of these books are by Ellen Hopkins, an author who profits by writing pornographic young adult fiction including one (Identical 2010) depicting extremely graphic incestuous sex between a ten-year-old girl and her father. That's just one title a pedo-series that's back in thanks to a court and administrative system that's not fighting for us our our children.
