Overall very chill panel. Felt like a proper interaction rather than interview.

Overall it went alright given I was literally the LAST in my panel so I'm glad it's over.

TISS Mumbai Afternoon Slot Interview
Date- 19/04/2023
8/8/8 - Total 86 Marks in TISSNET Fresher Non Engineer Male.
BCom 2022 Graduate. St Xavier's Kolkata

Three Professors. 2 Male 1 Female. All Very Senior. The most lovely panel I have ever come across.

Extempore Topic: Is gender equality a myth in Indian Workplace ?

Male 1: Asked me about what's happening in global recession. Why lay offs happening. Asked me few terms of HRM including Glass Ceiling, Industrial Disputes.

Male 2: Asked me about NPA and how to control it. Asked few ethics based HR case studies.

Female: What differentiates between my home town and Mumbai. I said in Mumbai nobody is settling for mediocrity and no matter how much the train is crowded, no-one gives other a chance to stand and nobody misses the train. The entire panel burst into laughter. Then she asked me my learnings in Placement Cell and corporate relations. Then asked me whether HRs were at faulty in Migrant Workers Problem in India in 2020 and its solutions.

Everyone was very senior and made me so so so comfortable that for a moment I forgot I am giving a formal interview as at the end of interview everyone was laughing and joyful,

Few points - Be ready to defend yourself with the DAF form no matter what. All that you have written must be justified in any case. They clearly want a person who is visionary. Not a random guy with topper academics. Be aware of real India is and not sitting inside AC room and wondering what problems are over Google. They literally asked me MNREGA rates and how many hours people work and the effect of work in this heat wave.

Two panelists M1 and M2, both above 50's, It was totally a conversation.
M1:
1. How are you Abhishek? Where are you from?
2. You have studied in Kolkata right?
3. Tell me something about history of kolkata from British times?
4. Why was kolkata made capital and why not bombay?
5. What are the subjects you have studied in biology?
6. Have you studied microbiology? What is it?
7. Tell me all the different type of viruses.?
8. Tell me about your experiences of doing research in biology for 5Years.
9. Why MBA then?
10. Why IIM Nagpur, tell me something different from what all students answers.

M2:
11. Let me tell you a story of a boy who worked under me, he was from sidbi, he got promoted into GM them CGM, and at age of 58 he retired and went to US to do MS in cell biology.
At age of 58, He did the same thing you have done.
12. So what specialisation will you choose?
13. Why gap year?
14. Tell me how will a country measure its economic growth?
15. Which is good- a increasing GDP or increasing Current account? Do you know what current account is?
16. How can india decrease its current account?
17. Before you go, I would suggest you to read a book-"The Biology of Belief" by Bruce Lipton. You have background in biology, you will love it.

M2 at last said, if you love any subject and have qualifications in it always try to fight with the struggles it gives and always be in love with that subject.

3.) How can you stargaze in such highly polluted environments?
4.) Tell me about a piece of news that you've read in the past 1-2 weeks that relates to the Indian economy.
5.) Chatgpt was able to clear the London Bar exam but wasn't able to crack the JEE. What could be the reason?
6.) How will an MBA programme help you in enhancing what you've already studied in BBA?
7.) What is sustainability?
8.) What are the 4 pillars of sustainability? (Couldn't answer this 🥲)
9.) What are the use cases of AI and Blockchain technology in sustainability. (Couldn't answer about Blockchain use case).
