The training schedule for AI and Data Analytics is designed to be mutually exclusive.

1. Python Programming: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (3:30 pm - 7:30 pm, October 28 - November 23, 2024).
2. Artificial Intelligence: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (3:30 pm - 7:30 pm, November 25 - December 21, 2024).
3. Data Analytics and Visualization: Tuesday and Thursday (3:30 pm - 7:30 pm) and Saturday (8:30 am - 12:30 pm), Dates: November 25, 2024 to March 25, 2025.

አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርስቲ ለ2017 ዓ.ም ለድህረ ምረቃ ትምህርት በቀን መርሃ ግብር ለሁለተኛ እና ለሶስተኛ ዲግሪ እንዲሁም በማታ እና በርቀት መርሃ ግብር ለሁለተኛ ዲግሪ ለማስተማር የመጀመሪያ ዙር GAT ፈተና በተሳካ ሁኔታ አጠናቋል፡፡ በዚሁ መሰረት ሁለተኛ ዙር GAT ፈተና የማመልከቻ ግዜ ከመስከረም 04 እስከ መስከረም 08 ቀን 2017 ዓ.ም መራዘሙን ያሳዉቃል፡፡

*የድኅረ ምረቃ መግቢያ ፈተና እና የመግቢያ ፈተና ያለፉ ለትምህርት የማመልከቻ ግዜ ወደፊት ይገለጻል::

Information on the AAU Graduate Admission Test (GAT)

1.Applicants are required to take the AAU’s Graduate Admission Test (GAT) and meet the minimum passing requirements.
2.Information about the GAT can be obtained from the Institute for Educational Research’s Telegram channel, Testing Center_IER_AAU, accessible through the link https://t.me/aauGAT
3.The application and test dates for the Graduate Admission Test (GAT) are September 05 to September 11, 2024. Priority will be given to those who register for the GAT as early as possible.
4.To register for the GAT, please follow the steps below:
-Visit https://Portal.aau.edu.et [Open]
-Click on the exam application
-Fill out the Test Taker Registration form
-Upload a passport-size photo of the test taker
-Click submit
-Copy the generated number
-The GAT testing fee of 1000 birr should be paid using Tele Birr. Foreign applicants are required to pay the equivalent of USD 50 in Ethiopian Birr.
-Once payment is made, please download and print your Admission Ticket, which is necessary for admission to the exam hall.

5.The test will be conducted electronically, and general information about the exam can be found on the aforementioned Telegram channel.
6.Applicants should check the Telegram channel daily from the date of application for updates on the test venue, date, and time.
7.If a test taker fails to appear on the scheduled test date due to various reasons, they may be required to pay to sit for the subsequent test schedule.

8.Applicants who have obtained GAT results from the previous year must retake the test. Previous GAT results cannot be used for the current application

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Addis Ababa University is prepared to launch professional training in the following three training programs. The first two were rolling and will be delivered for the fifth round this time while the third program is a new program to be launched within this month. 

1. Training on Python Programming: a two week intensive training Training on Fundamentals of Python Programming which is about 48 hours of training. This training is a requirement for the following two training programs. Those who do not have a background in Python Programming and wish to attend either Artificial Intelligence (given in number 2) or Data Analytics and Visualization using Python (given in number 3) should attend this training course. 

2. Training on Artificial Intelligence: This training is a 48 hour training which will be delivered for those who have a background in Python Programming. Those who attend Python Programming or have a solid background in Python Programming can attend this program. The training schedule will be a one month training with 12 hours/week program.

3. Data Analytics and Visualization: This training program is a career development program in which graduates of this program shall fit into data science jobs. The program focuses on using Python Programming, Python Libraries and Machine Learning for data analysis. The trainees for this program should have a solid background on the fundamentals of Python Programming. Those who attend the first two weeks of intensive training on Python Programming or those with a solid background in Python Programming are eligible for the program. The program consists of four modules with each module taking one month with a 12 hours/week program or shorter if we make it more intensive. Each monthly module will have its own certificate of completion. The trainees who accomplishes all the four modules will be awarded a certificate of achievement stating the modules and their performance on module projects and capstone projects. 

The objective of the form given in the link below is to collect your preferences on mode of delivery of these training programs and to make program preparation to announce the registration for the next week. 🕹 Multi-Layer Perceptrons (MLPs) for classification and regression tasks.
🕹 Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for image recognition, using
real-world datasets like handwritten Ethiopian numerals (developed
by the trainees themselves!)
🕹 Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and their variants (LSTM, GRU) for
tackling time-series prediction problems.
🕹 Popular deep learning architecture implementation for complex real-world challenges.
🕹 Gained insights into Reinforcement Learning and its applications.
🕹 Developed skills of practical examples of solving real-world problems with deep learning models.

Beyond the Curriculum:

🏑 The trainees actively participated in collaborative projects, tackling forecasting and image classification challenges.
🏑 We also had sessions on the crucial aspects of framing real-world problems for optimal machine learning solutions.
🏑 Explored data preparation techniques like data transformation and feature engineering.
The motivation, the engagement and active participation of the trainees was energizing and contagious and made the training sessions more lively.

Just concluded an intensive two-month training program on Python Programming and Artificial Intelligence, and it was incredibly and rewarding to witness the growth of the participants. Here's a some views of the exciting journey we had:

Month 1: Mastering Python
