Last weekend was a big win for Green Rotaract Concept (GRC)!
On Saturday, we collaborated with Akababinet, Plogging Ethiopia, Enfluencers and other sustainability focused organizations for an SDG Walk and Community Clean Up with a great turnout. We also got a helping hand from Rotaract Club of Finot and Nayo Bags to sell sustainable and reusable bags, and it was great to see so many people happy about buying and supporting Eco-friendly products. This gathering was held as a satellite event to an SDG Walk held in the Kingdom of Eswatini by EcoHarmony Eswatini and Eswatini National Commission for UNESCO on Oct 4.
Sunday brought even more excitement as we were invited to our mentor Rtn. Henock Alemayehu’s (Costa) beautiful home for a Board of Directors (BOD) meeting and some friendly badminton fellowship. We took a moment to reflect on our first quarter, which was a real success in most ways, and then dove into what’s coming next for us. The discussions about new projects and ideas for making a real impact in our community left us all filled with excitement by the end of the day.
But the day wasn't just about meetings and plans. Being surrounded by fellows who care for one another made the day even more special. We all left feeling inspired, recharged, and ready to take on what’s ahead... which depicted the core principle of the Rotary Fellowship.
Stay tuned for more from GRC Ethiopia—we’ve got a lot in store!
Thank you all our partners and collaborators for making this a reality, and a special gratitude to EcoHarmony Eswatini, Zandisile Howe, and Hana Melese for their contribution. Looking forward to our further initiatives to create awareness about the SDGs and other areas of sustainable community development.
