1. Why doesn't Horatio want Hamlet to follow the ghost?

Horatio is worried that the ghost might lead Hamlet to harm or madness. He fears it could be an evil spirit that might tempt Hamlet into dangerous actions or even lure him to a fatal place like the edge of a cliff.



2. What does the ghost tell Hamlet?

The ghost reveals that he is the spirit of Hamlet's father, the former King, and that he was murdered by Hamlet's uncle, Claudius who put poison in his ear. The ghost urges Hamlet to avenge his "foul and most unnatural murder."



3. How does the ghost want Hamlet to treat Claudius and Gertrude?

Hamlet makes Horatio and Marcellus swear not to reveal anything they have seen or heard about the ghost. He also makes them swear not to reveal anything about Hamlet's strange behavior to anyone. This is part of Hamlet's plan to feign madness as a way to uncover the truth and avenge his father.



5. Why is Prince Hamlet upset after the ghost tells him something?

Hamlet is deeply upset because he learns that his father was murdered by Claudius, someone he trusted and who is now married to his mother. This betrayal by his uncle and the moral corruption around him add to Hamlet's anguish and sense of responsibility to set things right, which weighs heavily on him.

• The first mistress of Nelly Dean is the first Catherine.

Q/ We have a mistress (the first Catherine) and housekeeper (Nelly Dean), a landlord (Heathcliff) and servant (Joseph) which characteristic of the Victorian age is this? Or which characteristic of the Victorian age applies in this case?

Ans/ Industrial Revolution (Classes in society).
Or/ Industrialization and Its Discontents.

Q/ Nelly Dean is first-person narrator or third-person narrator? And why?

Ans/ Nelly is a first-person narrator because she is engaged in the main story.

Q/ Catherine Earnshaw at first hated Heathcliff, but then she loved him, which characteristic of the Victorian age is this?

Ans/ Psychological Character Development.

• Joseph is a religious fanatical man.

• Religious change has two sides, the first side of people believe that the scientific spirit strengthens the faith, while others believe that the scientific spirit weakens the faith.

• Hindley is the landlord of Wuthering Heights after Mr. Earnshaw death.

• The story is told through entries in Lockwood's diary.

• Lockwood does not participate in the events he records (he's first-person narrator and third-person narrator at the same time).

• Lockwood takes the information about the story from two sources, the first one from Catherine Earnshaw's diary (that he found in Catherine Earnshaw's room) and the second source from Nelly Dean.

Q/ Lockwood is a reliable character to take the information from him or not? And why?

Ans/ He is an unreliable narrator because he makes mistakes when he assumes.

• Lockwood's assumptions are wrong because during his first visit to Wuthering Heights, he saw Heathcliff as a gentleman with a house full of servants, and he assumes that the young lady who sits beside the fire is the Heathcliff's wife, also at the second visit when he assumes that the young man who opened the door for him is the Heathcliff's son because of all this we consider Lockwood is a weak and emotional character so he unreliable narrator.

Q/ How the ghost is more considered as a figment of Lockwood's imagination? And is the ghost an imagining ghost or a real one? (prove your answer with evidence)

Ans/ The readers considered the ghost is from Lockwood's imagination because he was half asleep, and he had a couple of nightmares at the same time we consider Lockwood as a weak and emotional character because of this, we can say this is from his imagination, but also we consider the ghost is real because Heathcliff believes that it is real ghost and Wuthering Heights is haunted be Catherine's ghost so he begs the ghost to return.

• Morality and Didacticism: It aimed at teaching us right from wrong, and Wuthering Heights has moral lessons how to behave in a good manner.

Q/ Is there any Morality within Heathcliff's character development?

Ans/ Yes, at first, he was pure, but then he becomes cruel and harsh, so he becomes lonely nobody loves him. This is the consequences of that change. This is a morality and education that teaches us the right from wrong.

Q/ Is there any Woman Question in this novel?

Ans/ Yes, the writer is a woman. Further, that In the Victorian age women are major writers.
