OUR SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE VERSE

Good Morning

Here is our Word for today:

Verse: Psalm 34:18

‘The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.’

- Life can often leave us feeling crushed and broken.
- These conditions do not remove God from us, they attract His presence.
- He is the One Who comes close during difficult times to heal and restore.
- Just when we want to write ourselves off, He comes to forgive and save us.

PRAYER: Lord, how wonderful it is to know that even when I am facing challenges, Your hand is still there to lift me up. Today, You are close to me and You are ready to help, heal and restore my soul. Amen.

Have a great Sunday,
Kind Regards

ECZ explains Petauke by-election result delay
By Joy Nyambe The Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- says the delay in announcing the results for the just ended Petauke Central Constituency by-election was not on purpose.ECZ Chairperson MWANGALA ZALOUMIS has explained that the law does not permit the announcing of parliamentary, including local government and Council Chairperson Election results until all results have been received from all the polling stations.Mrs. ZALOUMIS says only presidential results are an exception as they are held throughout the country. She adds that the Commission cannot announce results due to pressure from certain political parties as it would be the basis of an election petition. This is in view of the announcement of results a day after they were held in Petauke, as ballot papers from about eight polling stations could only be carried by helicopter.Mrs. ZALOUMIS has described the poll as peaceful. She said this during a review meeting today in Petauke when she addressed Presiding Officers in the just ended by-election.And ECZ Commissioner, VINCENT MUKANDA commended the Presiding Officers for the job well done in delivering a successful electoral process.Major General MUKANDA said the good job also reflects on the Commission's success.

OUR SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE VERSE

Good Morning

Here is our Word for today:

Verse: Psalm 38:15

'LORD, I wait for You; You will answer, Lord my God.'

- Seasons of waiting can be challenging, but it will be worth it.

- The Lord will even use these times to work within us.

- No time or season we go through is ever a waste in our lives.

- We can have confidence that He will hear and He will answer.

Prayer: Lord, even if there seems to be no change in the things I am trusting You for, I will continue to hold on and wait for Your intervention. You have heard my prayer and You will intervene at just the right moment. Help me to be patient as I continue to trust You. Amen.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Kind Regards

CITIZENS First candidate in the forthcoming Pambashe parliamentary by-election, Ezekiel Kayumba, has petitioned the Lusaka High Court to compel the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to set a new nomination date with a properly gazetted timetable.

https://www.facebook.com/100064560977290/posts/1038835394945150/

He further alleged that the Commission failed to publish both the original and amended nomination timetables in the Government Gazette, as required by law.

"In the absence of a gazetted timetable, the respondent could not arbitrarily decide when your petitioner's time to submit his nomination elapsed," reads the petition.

Mr Kayumba also contended that ECZ's decision was unfair, citing that the UPND candidate was allowed to correct a failure to provide the required 15 supporters even after their time slot had...

LET US PRAY.

Dear God!

We thank You, for this far you've brought us.

You didn't bring us this far to have us stop along the way, no but to take us to our promised destination.

We bring burdens to you who knows our situations.

Protect, provide to us, and comfort our hearts; give us courage to soldier on.

We pray with thanksgiving in our hearts.

In Jesus's Name We Pray. Amen!

OUR MONDAY MORNING BIBLE VERSE

Good Morning, #Mwebantu,

Here is our Word for today:

Verse: Psalm 51:10

‘Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.’

- Sometimes life can leave us a little damaged.
- But God comes and He is able to renew our hearts.
- He can remove the scars and bring new life and hope in us.
- Give Him the right of way, and He will make all things new.

PRAYER: Lord, I give You every part of my life. Come and create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me, so that I can have a fresh start and a new hope within me. Amen.

Have a great week.
Kind Regards

Zambia on list of 10 African countries to have High GDP
Some economic experts and the business community on the Copperbelt have described the International Monetary Fund (IMF) report on Zambia being on the list of ten African countries expected to have the highest GDP growth in 2025 as exciting.Copperbelt University finance expert Stephen Mpembele says this is a huge relief to the country and a sign that the economic policy environment in Zambia is now predictable and attractive for more investment.Speaking to ZNBC News in Kitwe, Dr. Mpembele also said that the report indicates the country’s macroeconomic variables, such as inflation, interest rates, and the exchange rate, will start improving.Ndola and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Joseph Malisawa says the projection of Zambia being one of the ten African economies to have the highest GDP growth, as per IMF reports, means that everyone now has to work hard to ensure the projection turns into reality.Mr. Malisawa has also called on the government to work on the energy challenges in the country so that it can become more productive.

OUR FRIDAY MORNING PRAYER TO START YOUR DAY WITH A GRATEFUL HEART

Dear Lord, thank you so much for another day of life on Earth.

Thank you for another beautiful sunrise to enjoy.

Thank you for the wonderful sounds of nature, from the cool breeze brushing through the trees to the birds singing melodies.

You are a wonderful God, full of grace and mercy. I praise you for allowing me another day to spend with my family.

Lord, I declare that it is my will and my desire to obey and follow what You say to me. I choose Your ways over my ways, regardless of what the costs may be.

In Jesus's name we pray. Amen.

OUR FRIDAY MORNING PRAYER AND VERSE

Dear Lord,

YOU have brought me to the beginning of a new day.

As the world is renewed fresh and clean, so I ask you to renew my heart with your strength and purpose.

Forgive me the errors of yesterday and bless me to walk closer in your way today.

This is the day I begin my life anew; shine through me so every person I meet may feel your presence in me.

Take my hand, precious Lord for I cannot make it by myself.

Verse: Judges 13:3

The angel of the LORD appeared and said, ‘Even though you have been unable to have children, you will soon become pregnant and give birth to a son.’

- Our greatest challenges are not impossibilities to the Lord.

- Things may look impossible, as if they are ‘unable’ to become a reality.

- But the Lord is the One who has the final say in all your challenges.

- At any time, at any moment, He can step in and change things – HE can!

PRAYER: Lord, I give You all the areas of my life appear...

A Legal Selfie

With few days to leave office, outgoing US President Joe Biden has done a Legal Selfie - giving absolute pardon to his son Hunter who was convicted for tax evasion. Biden used the powers of "prerogative of mercy" on his son, prompting debate in the US that the action is abuse of power.

Imagine that was done by an African President...the donors would have been up in arms saying it was abuse of office by the President.

Ideally, when you are personally conflicted in a matter, don't use the powers to help yourself and family. It is called conflict of interest as your judgement is crowded with bias.

Good Morning, #Mwebantu,

Here is our Word for today:

Verse: Luke 9:61

‘Yes, Lord, I will follow You, but...’

- Following God is something we should do with all of our hearts.
- Don’t allow hindrances and hurdles to hamper your pursuit of God.
- Follow Him wholeheartedly without reservations or conditions.

PRAYER: Lord, I choose to follow You with my whole heart. I surrender myself completely to Your will and to Your plan and purpose for my life. I choose not to doubt or to be hesitant, but I will boldly pursue and follow You. Amen.

HH calls for success stories communication
By Mark ZiligonePresident HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has called on government officials to take a proactive role in communicating the successes the country has recorded in the past three years. Speaking during the launch of the Zambia Public Sector Strategic Communication Training for Senior Government Officials in Lusaka today, President HICHILEMA emphasised the importance of effectively sharing the administration's accomplishments with the public. The President pointed out that, although the Government has made significant strides in areas such as the mining sector and the introduction of the free education policy, many of these successes have not been adequately communicated to the public. He said it is the responsibility of government officials to explain the achievements, ensuring that citizens are informed about the positive changes taking place. And Information and Media Minister CORNELIUS MWEETWA said the training has come at a better time when Government has delivered most of its promises.Meanwhile Secretary to the Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA stressed the importance of fostering integrity within the public sector to earn public trust.

THE State has instituted proceedings in High Court seeking to forfeit four houses belonging to jailed former Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo, alias Bulldozer.

https://www.facebook.com/100064560977290/posts/995819155913441/

The Anti-Corruption Commission wants court to order that houses be forfeited to State becausey are proceeds of crime.

A magistrate recently established that Mr Lusambo, who is serving a four year jail term for possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime, registered four houses using wife's name.

ACC now wants houses, registered in name of Nancy Manase, to be surrendered to State for being tainted.

In his submissions, ACC investigations officer Mulenga Mulenga, said investigations also established that Ms Manase owns four houses at Silverest Gardens which are reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime.

Mr Mulenga said properties were valued at US$378,000, and that housewife paid US$193,219 and has a US$78,580...

Good Morning, #Mwebantu,

Here is our Word for today:

Verse: Matthew 6:26

‘Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?’
- Do you realise how valuable and precious you are to God?
- He sees you, He knows your every need and He will take care of you.
- Often we don’t even notice the birds, but they are a picture of how God cares.
- Don’t doubt His love and care for you but believe that He loves you.

PRAYER: Lord, I am amazed how You take care of all the things that You have created. Your kindness and Your goodness can be seen all around me. I choose to simply trust in You and to focus on You and Your goodness towards me. Amen.

Have a blessed Monday,
Kind Regards
