🔔#BREAKING | Donald Trump has declared his return to White House, promising a "golden age of America".

The former President, 78, declared himself the 47th President in a speech to party faithful at an event at West Palm Beach, flanked by wife Melania and son Barron.

“Every citizen I will fight for you … with every breath in my body,” Trump said.
“I will not rest until we have delivered the strong safe and prosperous America that we deserve. This will truly be the golden age of America.”

Trump becomes just the second American to win another term after a gap of four years. The other person was Grover Cleveland in 1893....

🔆Poverty Dimensions

Poverty is a multidimensional phenomenon in which a person or community lacks the financial resources and essentials for a minimum standard of living.
According to the World Bank, Poverty is pronounced deprivation in well-being, and comprises many dimensions. It includes low incomes and the inability to acquire the basic goods and services necessary for survival with dignity. Poverty also encompasses low levels of health and education, poor access to clean water and sanitation, inadequate physical security, lack of voice, and insufficient capacity and opportunity to better one’s life.
Each nation may have its own threshold that determines how many of its people are living in poverty.
In India, 21.9% of the population lived below the national poverty line in 2011. In 2018, almost 8% of the world’s workers and their families lived on less than US$1.90 per person per day (international poverty line).

🔆Pre-independence poverty estimates:

📍Dada Bhai Naoroji
(Book – Poverty and Un-British rule in India)
Initially it was Dada Bhai Naoroji who estimated poverty in the second-half of the 19th century.
He concluded the baseline in 1867-68 price which was based on the cost of a subsistence diet consisting of ‘rice or flour, daal, mutton, vegetables, ghee, vegetable oil and salt’.

📍1938
Congress President Subhash Chandra Bose set up the National Planning Committee (NPC) with Jawaharlal Nehru as the Chairman. The Committee regarded the irreducible minimum income between Rs. 15 and Rs. 25 per capita per month at pre-war prices.

📍The Bombay Plan (1944)
Bombay Plan proponents had suggested a poverty line of Rs.75 per capita per year.
The Bombay Plan was a set of proposals of a small group of influential business leaders in Bombay for the development of the post-independence economy of India.
