India as a bridge between the Global North and South

Today’s India not only firmly asserts its own point but also strongly amplifies the voice of the Global South.

Unlike the Non-Alignment Movement (NAM), India’s motivation does not appear to be based on decolonisation or strong criticism of the West. Rather, as India attempts to increase its presence in the Global South,

It is simultaneously deepening its relationships with traditional partners such as the United States and Europe.

India decided to develop its own satellite navigation system NavIC — for strategic reasons because, as it found out during the Kargil war, access to global systems is uncertain.

Originally called Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), NavIC is meant to provide accurate position information service to users across India and its 1,500-km neighbourhood.

NavIC is designed to provide two types of services — standard positioning service (SPS) with accuracy greater than 20 metres and timing accuracy of 20 nanoseconds for civilian use; and a restricted service (RS), which is encrypted and offered only to authorised users.

The international community must also play its role to push for the sustainability of this deal.

The future of West Asian prosperity, newer geo-economic architectures such as the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor, a potential expansion of the Abraham Accords, and even the radicalism of a Saudi Arabia-Israel normalisation, ultimately hinges on this momentum.

At the end of the day, the management of regional geopolitical fissures by regional powers will determine all outcomes.

Docking technology has become desirable thanks to the perceived inevitability of long-duration spaceflight.

Beginnings of Modern Parliamentary Institutions

Parliamentary government & legislative Institutions in their modern cannotation owe their origin and growth to India’s British connection for two centuries.

It would be wrong to presume that the British Institutions as such were at any stage transplanted in India.

The Parliament of India and the parliamentary Institutions had an organic growth on the Indian soil.

They grew through mamy relentless struggle of freedom, establishment of free democratic institutions and successive doses of constitutional reforms.

“Constitution is not a mere lawyers’ document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age.” - Dr BR Ambedkar.

Marking Constitution Day on November 26 unveiled a statue of Dr BR Ambedkar at the Supreme Court.

Ambedkar was the Chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution of India, which was adopted on this day in 1949 and came into effect on January 26, 1950.

The purpose of a Constitution is not merely to create the organs of the State but to limit their authority, because if no limitation was imposed upon the authority of the organs, there will be complete tyranny and complete oppression.

The legislature may be free to frame any law; the executive may be free to take any decision; and the Supreme Court may be free to give any interpretation of the law.
