Ethiopia's First Women Ambassadors At A UN Conference, 1974.
Yodit Imru (right) was Ethiopia's First Female Ambassador. She started her career in 1953 at the ministry of foreign affairs and quikly progressed to become deputy director. She taught and gave opportunities to other women such as Konjit Sinegiorgis (Left) Who began her career at the ministry in 1962. For over 50 years, konjit held numerous positions in addis ababa and overseas in canada, mexico, egypt and austria. In 2009 she became director of the au directorate-general, before retiring as africa's longest serving diplomat in 2015
