🔹Speaking at the Global Alumni Meet 2024, Rajya Sabha member and Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty, said, “Rank is not important in life; what truly matters is the courage and ability to face reality.”

The meet was organised by the BVB KLE Tech Alumni Association at NIMHANS Auditorium in Bengaluru on Saturday. Recalling her college days, Ms. Murthy credited BVB College for shaping her career and self-confidence.

“I was admitted to IIT and NIT but couldn’t afford the fees due to our middle-class background. Choosing BVB College allowed me to pursue engineering, without which Infosys wouldn’t have grown as it did,” she said.

🌟Ryotwari System was introduced by Thomas Munro in 1820.

🌟This was the primary land revenue system in South India.
Major areas of introduction include Madras, Bombay, parts of Assam and Coorg provinces of British India.

🌟In Ryotwari System the ownership rights were handed over to the peasants. The British Government collected taxes directly from the peasants.

🌟The revenue rates of the Ryotwari System were 50% where the lands were dry and 60% in irrigated land.

🌟Though ownership of land was vested with the farmers, excessive tax impoverished them. Furthermore, the tax rates were frequently increased.

🌟 The Union Public Service Commission is India's central recruiting agency. It is an independent constitutional body established directly by the Constitution.

🌟 Articles 315 to 323 in Part XIV of the Constitution outline detailed provisions about the composition, appointment, removal of members, and the independence, powers, and functions of the UPSC.

🌟 The Chairman and members of the Commission serve a term of six years or until they reach the age of 65, whichever comes first.

🌟 They can be removed from office before their term ends by the President.
