BYU has a decent Engineering, Law, and Business programs. Overall, it's a great ROI.

I'm thinking if you guys apply and land a scholarship even as low as 2-3k/semester, you can manage to cover the rest of your tuition and cost of living with an on campus part-time job. It's not too bad.

* One thing to note is that BYU is one of those colleges that require a small deposit before sending your i-20.

I've been asked for 'affordable' yet decently ranked college lists. I came across BYU. Tuition being arround 6k/semester, it makes BYU one of the cheapest unis in the US.

But why is the cost low?

BYU is located in central Utah where the Later-Day-Saints LDS (ሞርሞን) church has significant influence. Like most of the land and properties in Utah, BYU is owned by the church. In short, the church subsidies budget to BYU which helps lower the cost of attendance.

- If you decide to attend BYU, you don't need to be part of the LDS church but you're going to be required to follow their guidelines.
