Doorbell video footage has recorded armed police fatally shooting a man on Christmas Eve.
Amid community calls for answers, the family of Marcus Meade has given the BBC permission to publish the clip showing loud bangs and flashes at an address on Fownhope Close in Redditch, Worcestershire. The 39-year-old is wounded off screen.
West Mercia Police said the shooting occurred several hours after officers attended in response to paramedics' concerns for the safety of a man with a knife, and added it had referred itself to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC).
The force described the incident as "tragic" and said it could not comment further amid the watchdog's investigation.
Mr Meade, who according to his family had mental health problems, was described by his brother Jahziah Meade as an "incredible father, brother and friend".
"His absence leaves an immeasurable void in our lives," he told the BBC.

We have to keep shining a light on this as repetitive as it might seem: I know it's so incredibly tedious to repeat ourselves again and again and again on what's happening in the Channel, but we just have to keep banging away. I have it on good authority from those directly involved in the process that our weak asylum system is being abused on an industrial scale. Men claiming to be boys, officially being given 'the benefit of the doubt'? They're lying about their sexuality, age, religion, background - all to tick the right boxes in order to satisfy the incompetent Home Office. There is a process to follow to get accepted, and they do exactly that.
Those who do get caught out? They're not securely detained, so many slip into the night, never to be seen again - it is total bloody madness.
Thousands and thousands officially become refugees, and are set for a life of comfort funded by the British taxpayer. £726 million was spent on Universal Credit for refugees in 2023 - much of that on individuals who entered the country illegally via small boat.
Make no mistake. If our political leadership had the will, this could be solved almost overnight. Yes, it won't be a particularly elegant solution. But it will work. And it needs to be done.
The message has to be clear and it has to be simple. If you come here illegally, you CANNOT stay. We've already welcomed 150,000 from the boats, a number that is growing rapidly.
My message to you has to be this - do NOT get used to it.

A man charged with four counts of attempted murder in Shaftesbury Avenue.
Today Anthony Gilheany, 30 of Longfield, Harlow has been charged with four counts of attempted murder, causing serious injury by driving whilst disqualified, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was remanded into police custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later today.
Police were called at 00:45hrs on Wednesday, 24 December follow reports of a road traffic collision and a car driving on the wrong side of the road on Shaftesbury Avenue, W1.
Four members of the public were taken to hospital. One victim remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment in hospital.
