🔆RELIGIOUS PLURALISM

Indian society is composed of diverse cultures, peoples, languages and religions. Since ancient times India has been a land of diverse cultural groups professing many faiths. The Indian subcontinent is the birthplace of four world religions - Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism.
The Indian Constitution has rightly reflected the idea of multi-religions. It states that “every citizen has a right to freely practice, preach, profess and propagate any religion or faith”.

▪️Multiculturalism And Pluralism:

India is an inherently multi-cultural society that believes in plurality of ideas, belief and faith. It enriches
Indian culture and adds to our diversity.
We have vibrant communities of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis etc. that have blended well and enhanced the progress of India.
Striking a balance between unity amidst this vast diversity is always a challenge for a nation. Pluralism and multiculturalism are the two ways to manage this conundrum simultaneously.

▪️Pluralism in Indian
Perspectives
:

In India, pluralism describes the reality of cultural diversity. It attempts to create a society in which the best of all inputs continues to integrate.
It allows for many different groupings but does not try to impose a uniform status on all of them.

▪️Multiculturalism in
Indian Perspectives

Multiculturalism means showing respect and tolerance to other cultures and faith. It holds that all minority values must have equal status to those of the majority. It also allows assertion of different identities in every sphere of life.
The Indian constitution also provides fundamental rights for the preservation of this variety. No community is left out in creating a rainbow nation.

▪️Pluralism

Here individuals in a common (neutral) public sphere are treated as equals.
Different cultures are allowed in a separate cultural sphere, but society has no obligation to acknowledge or support alternative cultural forms.
The dominant principals for pluralism are Equality of opportunity, Freedom of association

▪️Multiculturalism

As per multiculturalism, the public sphere is not culturally neutral, it is an arena for cultural negotiation.
Different cultures are encouraged. Individuals are considered part of collectivities that provide meaning to their lives. Multiculturalism seeks ways to support these collectivities.
The dominant principals for multiculturalism are Affiliation, Cultural recognition

HAPPINESS 😊 and SAIDNESS SAID😞

Man often complains that the time of happiness passes very quickly and the period of sadness passes slowly. This tells us that the measurement of time is also relative and depends on the mind. Similarly, happiness and sadness are also relative. Eating delicious food is pleasant, but eating it in excess becomes painful. Therefore, no matter how much you like food, it is better to consume it in a proper proportion. In fact, the whole life is a mixture of happiness and sadness. If someone praises us, we get happiness. Along with that happiness, the amount of ego also increases in us. This ego becomes the cause of sadness. Remember that sadness is born from the desire for happiness. If we never wanted to win, then we cannot be defeated. Life is like a musical instrument in which all the ragas can be played. It depends on us with which tune and which raag we want to enjoy life. Nature provides us with two gifts - body and intellect. Both of these keep increasing with time. With the development of our intellect and physical strength, we have gathered the means of our convenience. If there is any shortage or something is lost in these means of comfort gathered from here, then why should we feel sad? Why cry over it? The feeling of losing here what was not ours, but we got it from here, is the root of our sorrows. Till the time we consider material things as everything in life, we will not be able to experience real happiness. Whatever we have got here, there is neither eternal happiness nor ultimate happiness in them. They are just the means to live comfortably. They should be seen only as means and not as property. If we keep considering them as property, then losing them will be felt as a disaster.

ONE NATION ONE ELECTION .

The high level committee constituted on One Nation One Election under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind has submitted its report to President Draupadi Murmu. Main recommendations of the committee

> The panel has recommended simultaneous elections for Lok Sabha and state assemblies.

It has been recommended to conduct local body elections also within 100 days

There should be a new Lok Sabha. For this, Article 3244 will be implemented. > In case there is no majority in the House or a no-confidence motion is passed, new elections can be held to form a new Lok Sabha. The new Lok Sabha will work only for the remaining time of the previous Lok Sabha.

> When fresh elections are held to state assemblies, the newly elected assembly will continue in existence till the end of the full term of the Lok Sabha, unless it is dissolved earlier.

> To implement this arrangement, Articles 83 and 172, which deal with the tenure of the Houses of Parliament and State Legislatures, need to be amended.

> The Election Commission may prepare a uniform voter list and voter identity card in consultation with the state authorities.

> Constitutional amendments would need to be passed with ratification by at least half of the states.

- Changes required to implement ONOE:

(a) Article 83: Duration of the Houses of Parliament

(b) Article 85: Dissolution of the Lok Sabha by the President

(c) Article 172: Duration of State Legislatures

(d) Article 174: Dissolution of State Legislatures

(e) Article 356: Constitutional emergencies

(f) Several provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951

The 170th and 255th reports of the Law commission are in favour of ONOE.

Other members of the committee- Subhash Kashyap, advocate Harish Salve, Amit Shah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, NK Singh, Sanjay Kothari and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury [Adhir Ranjan refused to join.

Based on the responses received from a total of 834 candidates amongst those who either just appeared for the interview in 2023 or were finally selected in 2023 UPSC CSE cycle, we have collated the above graph for the analysis of the following for each of the boards:
1. Minimum marks awarded as recorded
2. Maximum marks awarded as recorded
3. Average marks awarded as recorded

Please note that this data is merely speculative based on the limited responses received. Since it was a voluntary exercise to fill the data on behalf of the candidates, certain errors are inevitable.

However, due-diligence has been practised while collating final data for tabulation such as removal of duplicate entries, seemingly fake entries, etc.

Also, less than 10 entries were recorded for Mrs. Preeti Sudan, hence her data has not been included owing to small sample size.

Please treat the above data as merely indicative of trends and use it solely for aiding your preparation and strategy.

Beauty 😍 of DREAMS 🤩

We all dream. You keep filling those dreams with colors as per your convenience. Sapna and Kalpa are two different things. The world of dreams can be brought down to the ground of reality whereas very few people have the courage to step out of the world of imagination. The beauty of dreams inspires us to move forward. This inspiration inspires us to do more. It is dishonest to remain lost in the world of dreams without hard work. It takes a lot of effort to bring dreams to life. Only then can the dream kingdom be conquered. A person without self cannot move ahead in life; he has to be a visionary to achieve his goals. Big dreams act as a catalyst to achieve big goals. When dreams are fulfilled, sources of immense joy start flowing.

The benefit of dreaming is only when we apply vigor and dedication to fulfill it. A student's dream is to stand first in his class, a farmer's dream is to have a bumper crop. Every person sees some dream at every stage of life. If he commits himself wholeheartedly to the realization of these dreams, he achieves the highest pinnacle of success. A person handicapped by some defect or birth also starts dreaming of becoming successful in life. He chooses one field of work for himself. Then, fighting every challenge, he reaches the pinnacle of success. His consistency makes him a nif in his field of work. If he had not dreamed of being successful and had not worked hard to achieve it, he would hardly have been successful. We should remain active on the path of hard work to fulfill our dreams in life.
