The 2% ELM (Extreme Loss Margin) increase is causing significant challenges for traders
For example, a trader making 2% monthly returns while paying 1% interest on borrowed funds of ₹1 crore would earn:
Monthly profit: ₹2 lakh
Interest cost: ₹1 lakh
Net profit: ₹1 lakh
With the ELM margin increase, the trader can only punch in 2/3 of their original quantity
Here's how the numbers now look:
Adjusted profit: ₹1.33 lakh (2/3 of ₹2 lakh)
Interest cost: Still ₹1 lakh (since the capital borrowed remains the same)
